QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ Oct 8 2010, 10:24 AM) Ya ya ya.. the Ah Beng version Aiyoyooooooooooooo dowan the ah beng 1 la. U know u want the Leica. But the idea of a smaller more discrete camera is tempting... see how the rumor'ed GF2 turns out lor... or if someone will do a AF normal prime for the NEX. If my in laws owned a film shop, I'd get the Leica MP in a heartbeat. That camera will last me till the day I die and then continue to serve my daughter n her kids too. Awesome pics. Got Street Barber at 3:32.
I love pics with no modern features. Very difficult to achieve coz there's always sumthin that pokes out of the pics. I go to really old places n take pics of it thinking "wow! I got a classic pic at last" but then go home look carefully on computer screen n u can pick out lil details like aircond compressors, satellite TV dish etc etc. This post has been edited by ianho: Oct 8 2010, 11:44 AM |

QUOTE(HiroBoroi @ Oct 10 2010, 09:43 AM) I think street photography is supposed to be something spontaneous (spontan) Ya like Robert Capa taking the secret of the shot soldier picture to his grave. Until today, ppl still debating if the picture was real or staged bs. I think a lot of the famous street pics r bs too. Especially those where u get ppl standing or walking on exactly the right spot doing exactly the right thing. I mean, it's like a 1 in a million chance thing yet those fellas can keep pumping out pics like that is bs la iMO. |

QUOTE(HiroBoroi @ Oct 11 2010, 08:32 AM) Is it possible to edit the thread title and remove the word candid? Perhaps the thread starter or mod can do this? I think there have been a few pics posted under candid, but I don't think that was the thread starters intention. I agree. Getting all kinds of weird postings instead of street photography. I will edit the title to Street Photography.<-- from 1st page. |

Can see some modern elements there. The fluorescent light is a glaring giveaway. N the price tag gun in the middle left. Hehe. But very nice pic, these uncle shops r surely dying out.

QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ Oct 13 2010, 03:57 PM) Flurescent light also kenot ker boss? Its been around for since my grandma's time liao but yeah you're right, the plastic bottles and price tag gun are a dead giveaway. Haloooo, polo shirt has been around since 1896. Mana ada modern? And I just realized your street hawker is wearing a modern polo shirt Foreign locations are easy as everything looks "interesting". The difficult part is own neighborhood. Every night also I go out jalan jalan and most of the time, I can't even shoot a single frame Maybe you can add a caption on what you wanna portray. QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ Oct 13 2010, 05:42 PM) If only he was wearing a typical Pagoda shirt, would make it just about perfect. Hehe. Mebe I go check him out again n see if he's wearing a Pagoda shirt next time round. Dunno if I can find the fella again though, I simply jalan jalan that day until dunno where I was oso. Talk talk talk for what? Faster post picture la.
Anyway, who says shutter speed is the most important? There's no hard n fast rule. It's all up to how u want it to look like. We don't always wanna freeze people into statues, showing motion is good sometimes.. This post has been edited by ianho: Oct 17 2010, 02:47 AM |

Street, people.... Street! Get out there in the great outdoors instead of always hiding inside in the comfort of aircond. Don't be lazy!
