Roughly how big is the space? Is it enough to construct a study area there?

The place is design for sunlight to shine into the house. Some people just love to rise and shine with the sun. It is like an natural alarm clock. It is not very practical where the afternoon sun is concern.

Base on the design concept, there is nothing you should do about it. Whatever you do you will block out the sunlight from the house. That is like kinda "cacat".

yupe.. that's the reason i bought the top floor..
but once again .. leaving it un-touched... seems like a square box too

adding such design (as per in photos) it looks not practical as well ?

You can add nice carving to the boarders. I think that is about all you can do. A reno man can give you a lot of samples to choose from.

Since it is the top floor you are one of those few units on top that can take advantage of this design. It is better to maintain the design concept. If you can access the roof top from here then I suggest you put a ladder to get up there. You can do a rooftop BBQ party. The disadvantage is proper security.

1) Paint some murals on the walls up there.
2) Paint green grass or leaves to give relaxing feel
3) Paint clouds and blue sky and birds/butterfly
4) Place fake hanging green leaves/plants dangling from the top into the room
5) Stick star-shaped mirrors onto the wall/roof (u'll see shiny sparkles like stars)
6) Use design stickers to decorate it.
