Any idea what is the market price for this phone?

RM1699 + monthly RM50 + RM58 - RM10 (rebate)...

Yesterday I tested the demo set at Maxis in Sunway pyramid...nice phone and I'm going to sign up the plan.. 

serious? the website say rm58..then at the bottom there say additional rm10 rebate...so which is true ?

Confirmed is RM48... one month minimum is 98..

value plus is 50 the minimum.. then data plan is 58.. but will rebate rm 10 for 12 months.

50+58=108-10=98 per month..

but the sad part is they dont provide any sub line plan.. very sad...

The reason I switch off APN then only connect to WIFI to surf web because.....

My last phone bill cost me RM600++ just for the data transmit. Already over cap 500MB. (Maxis charged me every over cap KB=RM0.05)
Then I complaint cannot be.. coz most of the time I use WIFI at house and at office.
Even I show them my 3G data counter apps, show that most of the data is using WIFI to connect. Ratio is about 8:2(WIFI:mobile net).

Then.. you know what... the most funny thing happen.

The consultant tell me, if the signal strength of your WIFI is only 1 or 2 bar.. this mean you still hooked up with Maxis 3G for mobile internet NOT THROUGH WIFI.
This is because this is "SMART PHONE" they know how to justify which one is faster/better to connect for mobile internet.

If... your WIFI signal show 3 or full bar.... then this is only 100% connect to WIFI. And you never never hooked up with Maxis 3G anymore.
She also mentioned this not only apply to GS, Iphone and all the smart phone also the same.

Funny or not?? Maxis consultant ask me don't ever ever trust your WIFI signal...
What I can do is PAID the FXXKING amount...

So now you understand why I want to disable APN before I go for WIFI for mobile internet.

Why not call Maxis and find out?

u can try before u buy. each maxis centre have at least 1 test unit

not iphone.. the test unit im talking about is samsung galaxy s. u have to ask from the salesmen/girl there. previously they show me if i wanna play with the test unit first before i buy.

I did not regret to buy the sgs, a very nice phone.
However, my advice to those 12 buy, dun buy it from Maxis. Don’t tie yourself to the 12 months contract, I m considering to terminate the contract with RM500 fine. Your charges will not as low as RM98, Maxis like to give surprise to its users, Be prepare for the big surprise. RM10 rebate omitted, Call forwarding RM3, Call waiting RM3, itemize RM5, exceed data usage RMXXX……
Smartphone can only work fine with an unlimited data plan.

Includes everything. Data + calls.

WTF! My Maxis bill have reached RM250 for unbilled amount. The maxis people never send me any SMS to notify me whether my line have pass 500mb or not. Such a scam

Your surprise will not end after your 1st bill…. Get ready for series of bigger surprise on ur 2nd , 3rd bill…
Go Maxis’s facebook and read the complaint on the discussion board, RM250 is just a small amount while people is getting RM700 or RM800 monthly bill.

My advice to the maxis user, please check your bill, especially the 1st bill.
My 1st month bill was double charge, RM10 rebate omitted, 3G data usage charge overcharge….
I spend whole night in maxis centre to explain and guide the maxis staff how to get the actual amount, at the end I manage to get back my hard earn money.
Please take note, the call forwarding charge of RM3 should be waived as you had subscribed for 3G. Maxis will charge you that, if you don’t question it.

BTW, dun 100% rely on the 3G watchdog, it wont be 100% accurate/tally to maxis record at least not for my case. To play safe set 400MB as your limit in 3G watchdog instead of 500mb.

Just use advaNced task killer to close all aps n use smoda widget to disable data usage
