As title, is it possible for Malaysia telco to trace or block stolen phones via IMEI since it's unique?

It's possible in the UK where they have a centralized IMEI blacklist server, and all telcos will verify the IMEI with the server before users are allowed to access their network. *sigh*

Around March this year i had a friend who lost her hp(nokia) and made a police report. We asked abang polis this exact same question. His response was "ini you kena tanya nokia".
So my guess is its not possible.

I think it's actually possible in M'sia (technically) but the telco might not provided the service...we still have to pay for something we shouldn't. Telco service in m'sia have a lot to improve!
