QUOTE(Jamien @ Jul 19 2010, 01:39 AM) Just talking about foreign investment, that is so doomed... You know the government limits foreign investment and plus they bring down local investment by not giving them privileges that foreign investors enjoy. I wonder how long will this debate keep going on. We dare to post in forum and say it among our friends, but I don't see many people daring to head on with the government to show them who they should be afraid of. They need to subsidize our daily products because it affects all Malaysians and also because they don't control price inflation well. When sugar, salt, oil or petrol price raise, everything's price raises. When the goods prices come down, those raised prices don't. It is not a waste of every citizen benefits from it. Problem of lack of funds for health, education and and transportation is caused by crazy projects that don't benefit everyone, like the Agong's istana. can you imagine the good it will do to put 250 million into each of those 3 sectors instead. Malaysian govt should not cut money from here and there. They should just spend the money they have wisely on what to invest. QUOTE(bluephoenix87 @ Jul 19 2010, 01:34 AM) Yeap... During elections, they'll talk about transparency & 1Malaysia, post-election increase commodity prices and blame subsidy or convert maths & science to BM or English, near elections, they'll tar the roads & upgrade some busses plus give some minor handouts... The english re-convert for maths and science is positively stupid! I mean, when you go to college all your books will be in english that is more complicated then those you have in school. Yes the malay students will suffer for a few years for those who find it hard to catch up. so extra tutorial hours should be given to those who need. They will need it in college anyways. It will benefit other rising students in school when they get used to the system. Many of the english batch students did so well. Not just the Istana... so many others... Remember PKFZ??? The list goes on... lol! We are blessed in one way... We don't have to talk about Coup-de-Tat... We have elections... We can kick them out easily... If they bring up May 13, the people will be smarter this time... Of course there'll be some idiots stupid enough to fall for them, but it'll have minimal effects... Fool me once, shame on me, fool me twice, shame on you... lol! Plus, like I said, if people vote Pakatan in, but gov refuse to give up, the people will take matters into their own hands... Nobody can avoid it... Its part & parcel of political process... You know that during elections we have ghost voters right? Plus there are thousands of unregistered Malaysians who refuse to vote because they feel that the effort is a waste and futile. QUOTE(FatalitY @ Jul 19 2010, 01:36 AM) elise? again?QUOTE(bluephoenix87 @ Jul 19 2010, 01:40 AM) Even you are saying "Should"... lol! Oh ya that case! I remember there was another where a chinese couple held hands and kissed (lightly) in KLCC. They were forced to marry and fined. like syariah law. Weird thing is I see foreigners doing PDA at klcc and nothing happens. But the government is subsiding golf-carts... lol! Actually, its not like that... Current estimated cost = RM 800 million Actual cost = RM 1.6 billion Planned ceremony cost = RM 400 million Actual ceremony cost = RM 800 million Total Estimated cost = RM 1.2 billion Actual cost = RM 2.4 billion Reported in paper cost = RM 400 million I remember reading in paper once where a secondary school couple holding hands at KLCC were fined RM 300... It was part of KLCC management's plan to reduce PDAs at KLCC... A plan which they later quieten down... lol! Yeap... Plus increase the cost of Milo Ais to RM 10... lol! |

The minute they re-converted the syllabus to English, it was already a bad mistake. Why? Simple. How many of the students are even scoring a good result for simplified...I repeat...SIMPLIFIED english? And when we're talking about changing scientific names into english, I am very sure most of their head is pretty jammed and overclogged after trying to process what cell/biological name is the book refering to.You know that during elections we have ghost voters right? Weird thing is I see foreigners doing PDA at klcc and nothing happens. What you said about people voting is futile is because we've lived in the blanket of stupidity made by the government for years since Mahatir was producing Proton. Ever since then, when there's no signs of retaliation by the people/nation, the greed is fed and they become basically 'invulnerable'. Money rules, that's the law in this world. So, if the wicked has the benjamins, they reign with power. Money=power. Don't believe? If I were to bribe a random guy RM100K to side the government, and if he continuously support the government and be their meatshield, every month, his/her bank will be filled with money if 5 figures or more, would you think that man will still say " sorry, i won't?" There are millions of us, yet how many of us are standing for our rights in Malaysia compared to those who lives in fear and thinks that the government will feed them forever? |

QUOTE(Crys_Crys @ Jul 19 2010, 01:54 AM) Night shift as usual. Well, honestly, the more we debate about how our government is, the more it does not get us anywhere. How many opposers we have? Look at our neighbour. They may have revolted many times, but look at the government...still standing. Cuz money=power. Simple as that. Tycoons won't be tycoons if they don't have government to back their investments up. |

But seriously, 4 billion for an office, government office somemore, that's too much... they probably inflate the price of photostatting papers in their budget... from 10 cents to RM 10 per paper...O.o woah who make you wait.
