You can now download the latest version off Market.
just find "rockplayer" (use the V7).

You cannot download from Androlib. It's just a repository of information on Android apps available on the Market. It's for searching and browsing apps on your computer rather than waste battery doing it with your phone. For downloading the apps, you just need to snap the QR code with your Bar Scanner app and it will take you to the app's install page on the Market.

I wonder why all Android apps webpage dont just upload the apk file so that we can just download it and later install in our hp using te installer apps.

This will benefit for us who do not want to waste our limited data cap to scan the QR code and find the webpage.

Is a means to control piracy, to reduce freely sharing of apps

OK, as a Legend user, this apps doesn't do much good for now.

Default app: HTC Streaming Player
What happened: Plays MP4 perfectly, doesn't do FLV

I installed Rockplayer (ARMv7)
What happened: Selecting media files restarts app. I then realised ARMv7 is not for Legend.

I installed: Rockplayer (ARMv6+AMsomething, it's for Legend)
What happened: Video badly out of sync with audio (both mp4 and flv)

then installed: Rockplayer 2.8 (Public Beta, expired on 15/7)
What happened: App directs you straight to Rockplayer website

then installed: Rockplayer (Closed Beta/ 'Alpha')
What happened: App restarts like ARMv7

The developer needs fix the video audio sync problem.

My comment on their ad version is it's terribly annoying to see the ad. I can live with the watermark (it's big mind you) but worse is the ad.

macha, the developer was specific, the app was meant for armv7 and armv6 processors. ur legend runs on qualcomm. i believe the instruction set is different, yes?
difference between qualcomm and arm is like intel and amd. its based on the same architecture but got slightly different instruction sets that are unique to each other.

Added on July 20, 2010, 9:44 amoh and milestone and samsung galaxy s both runs on arm based processor

I admit I'm not well verse between the differences in armv vs. qualcomm. What I do expect is if the developer says in their website it supports HTC Legend, the app should work as intended (ie. play video and sound in sync) in HTC Legend. Even more so when that they charge money for ad free version.
