For AW this is also about business.Would you hire an extra accountant just to put him at the corner doing nothing and ask him to replace the main accountant when he is sick?
Do remember also that we have the new 25 players rule as well.
i didn't say that Almunia want to be 2nd GK. but why do we care whether he want to be 2nd GK or not? performance-wise, that is his level. past 2 seasons had proved that. he is contracted to Arsenal, so it does not matter what he want. what matters is what Arsenal can benefit from. and currently what we can benefit from massively is to get a proper GK in

A good manager always treat his employee like his son/child/friend. Obviously Arsene Wenger is not like Roberto Mancini. He always try to keep good relationship with his player, not by simply told them to move on or gtfo with no concrete reason.
maybe that's a correct definition for a good manager for you(although i think it's just wrong). an excellent manager however, win competitions. obviously there are other criteria to determine an excellent manager, but surely winning counts a hell lot towards identifying an excellent manager. at the very least, an excellent manager will not ignore the obvious flaw for continuous seasons such as our GK situation
