QUOTE(Walaoeh! @ Jul 18 2010, 12:17 AM) Let's dream... Arsenal Draw Closer to Impressive £32m World Cup Trio: Wenger Has Hopes of Capturing Ozil, Handanovic and Mertesackerhttp://www.caughtoffside.com/2010/07/16/ar...nd-mertesacker/Don't see that happening especially Ozil, we already have load of attacking players. Mertesacker would be perfect but I doubt we can afford him after the world cup. Handanovic just too young for AW. I have a feeling that AW wanted an older goalkeeper because either Mannone or Szczesny will be ready in 2 to 3 years time. Nevertheless we need a center back and a goalkeeper for sure.

I know many people here do not like Schwarzer due to his performance in the last World Cup. But if you really watch him played for Fulham for the past two seasons, I would say he is good enough for us. I have very high hope on Szczesny and think that he will become a great keeper but he still need 2 - 3 years to develop. Having a 37 years old Schwarzer with vast BPL experience certainly help to mentor Szczesny and prepare him to take over as No.1 in 2 - 3 years time.

QUOTE(adrian0229 @ Jul 30 2010, 04:24 PM) fren..we not talk based on last WC performance but overall..he has been a decade with EPL...his performance during middlesbrough and fulham is juz so-so...nth much special bout him IMO... i would prefer to bring in joe hart(english man), he will b no.1 gk for england very soon... Forget about Hart..........the chances of Man City selling him is almost zero especially now team need to fulfill the "home grown" requirement.

Don't be over confident......... I scared Fabianski will be the man between the stick................. and the score is 5-5 with Arshavin fulfilling his promise of 5 goals in 1 game. Added on August 14, 2010, 6:09 pmAnd Arsene Wenger has committed to Arsenal until 2014 source» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Arsenal Football Club is today delighted to announce that its most successful manager, Arsène Wenger, has signed a three year extension to his current contract, taking his tenure at the Club to June 2014.
Wenger, the longest-serving manager in the Club’s history, is as committed as ever to leading the team in the challenge for trophies at the highest level, as well as continuing to produce the sumptuous football for which Arsenal has become synonymous with during his 14 year reign.
Arsène Wenger said: “My heart belongs to Arsenal and my desire is to see this team win silverware.
“My commitment and drive are as strong and fresh as ever. Signing a new deal means that I can see this talented group of players reach their potential. Trust me, they are ready to deliver.
“With my staff and players we are in front of an exciting challenge and we are looking forward to achieving much success.”
Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood stated: “We are thrilled that Arsène has signed an extension to his contract. He has masterfully transformed this football club over the last 14 years and the exciting and compelling football we play under his stewardship is admired the world over.
“Arsène is a very talented man and we believe the young, exciting team he has nurtured over the past five years will reward his and the fans’ patience with silverware.”
During his time with the Gunners, Wenger has revolutionised the Club not only through the brand of successful football the team plays but also through his detailed and insightful input into the design of the state-of-the-art training centre at London Colney and the layout of the players’ and technical staff areas at Emirates Stadium.
Wenger has steered Arsenal to seven major trophies over the last 14 years, including the 2003/2004 Premier League title without losing a single game. In each of his 13 full seasons at Arsenal, the Club has qualified for the UEFA Champions League - Europe’s premier club competition- an achievement matched only by Manchester United and Real Madrid. For now, Almunia would be the best choice. Else, please play Manone. No Fabianski please.
