Eduardo will always be special to Arsenal, no matter how badly some perceived he fared when he donned the Arsenal jersey.
Firstly, last season he was played out of position. Eduardo's core competency is his ability to finish inside the 6 yard box. IMO, he's by far the most predatory striker we ever had in a long time. If you guys ever seen his finishing, you'd appreciate what a striker he is and im very sure he'll do well in Shaktar Donesk, given the less competitiveness and aggressiveness there.
Having said that, i felt he was played out of position last season. He was constantly played wide left and made to cut in to centre. The way i see it, Eduardo is the type of player that needs a strike partner and the whole of last season saw us largely playing with 1 main striker with 2 supporting coming from the flanks. Plus, he's had injury on and off the season and that kinda affected his patchy form.
I really dont wanna talk about his horrendous injury, but to a certaint extent, the injury inhibited his growth in Arsenal. He was starting to find form and was looking to be our main striker until he suffered that broken leg and sadly, he didnt quite fit in back into our plans.
Anyways, im sad and happy that he'll be gone. Sad coz he never realised his potential in Arsenal colors, happy coz a good player like him deserved more playing time somewhere else.

To be fair to Cesc, he has more than once came out and said he's an Arsenal player. Of coz the intensity of the rumours is mostly coming from Barcelona and it didnt help that he was part of the Spain team that won the World Cup and we all know half of the team is from Barcelona. So its quite natural that the rumours intensify. Thing with Cesc, he's having his break and apparently he should be back by this week or so. I think he will be making a statement soon, whether he leaves or not.

As much as i'm dissapointed with the draw, i'm slightly relieved its the first game of the season. We've traditionally started the season very strongly, recording big wins and playing as tho the season never ended at all. But by the end of the year, the lack of squad depth is evident when we start losing and drawing games we should be winning. Last season, we started with a bang, 6-1 win if not mistaken. Anyways, what im trying to say is, a good start does not necessary reflect on the results thruout the season.
But i'm not too pertubed. Firstly, Liverpool looked much more prepared than us. Their fitness level was good, they chased after every loose ball and they made far better passing than us in the 2nd half. I'd say we escaped with a draw. That aside, we're lacking a few key players, RVP, Cesc, Song, Denilson, Rosicky. I mean the fact we started Wilshere tells you that it's an experimental squad. And the fact that Walcott and Rosicky came on and brought something to the team shows that we're moving in the right direction. I think 1-2 more additions is what we need now, a reliable GK and maybe another centreback.
