I'm having some problems insuring my games and consoles because they require receipts for everything which is quite impossible for me. Anyone had insured their games? Any recommendation for which insurer to go for?

Some foreign forummers had their games insured, from US, UK and Canada.

Alright.

I'm not sure what insurance company offers such a service in Malaysia, but no harm asking AIG or AIA for help on this matter. Sadly hq is in KL. how?

I did ask about fire/theft insurance before with HLB. like gundam said, all require receipts.

Also I don't think the insurance company valuer knows how to value game, especially the games gundam have.

The problem is it has to be valued by them/3rd party.. where to find someone who actually knows?

gundam shows off his supremacy by announcing he has bazillion games.

On a more serious note, I think you need to contact another auditor from another country to do such a thing. And then ask him to engage. But remember, the insurance will cost a bomb (due to exclusitivity of the service).

put all your game in Safe deposit box at bank.
There should have some value insurance for the service you use.

you're gonna need a big one. that's for sure.

But yeah, renting safety deposit boxes is another way I believe that you can use to insure the games. Contact Bank Simpanan Nasional if its in Sabah.

Surely you don't keep some receipts for some of the games?

When I get stuff from ebay, they always issue receipt/invoice. At least I can always print out the Paypal receipt/invoice.

I believe Play-Asia always print out receipt/invoice for every item we buy from them.

Anyway, if I were to insure my games, I'd insure the more expensive ones.

Oh, forgot bro gundam bought Shinrei Jusatsuhi Taromaru....

i dunno you enough money or not.
When I watch movie, I saw some ppl got their own safety box, not should be safety ROOM in their house. It protect against fire & thief, even Oxidation.
If not enough money, I suggest to choose few games that most important to you & put it in bank safety box.

Gundam,
BTW, I notice there will be Video Game Appraiser to set the value of you video games.
just hire them to estimate the value of your asset. his report should enough for you to buy the insurance for it.
Hope can help you.

Sikit sikit lama menjadi bukit tongue.gif

No one is going to insure a pack of cigarette, but imagine a cigarette store with hundred of thousands packs of cigarettes, the value would be much different. And PS3 games isn't really a good example anyway, they are quite cheap whistling.gif
