Sometimes I find questions in this forum to be repetitive and at times stupid. There's a search function for god's sake! Use it and don't be a lazy bum!

Cyber, I have been lurking on this forum for quite sometime and I agree that we should debate on the technical aspects of a car.
But your comment on our road trips is somehow unneeded on a car forum. Before you further say that we need to focus our energy and money onto something more useful, bear in mind that road trips and car modifications are one's passion and hobby. And if you are too senile thus forgetting what a hobby is all about, here's something for you.
A hobby is an activity or interest that is undertaker for pleasure or relaxation, typically done during one's leisure time.
The forte club is a HOBBY! Yes! That's what it is! A HOBBY! We do it for our own pleasure at our own leisure time.
So please, if you want to discuss/to find out more on the technical aspects of forte, you are utmost welcomed.
But if you are here to flame one's hobby and interest, please do it somewhere else. Hmmm... Probably it is your HOBBY to flame someone else's hobby. If that's the case, go here -----> LYN Kopitiam
Pretty sure you'll meet someone your stature. brows.gif

Still its my opinion which im entitled to the same way ill accept your constructive critisisms as well. Not everybody does road trips as a hobby. Most of them try and equate themselves to the western biker groups who travel in packs during the weekend across California. Many of our local fan boys are merely 'going with the flow'. My advice was meant to be a wake up call to such individuals who assume that they can work and play with a RM3K salary for the next 10 yrs only to wake up on the 11th year and realise just how far behind they are.

Again, my opinion only. Cheers!

Yes, I acknowledge your criticism but unfortunately not on this thread my friend. This is a car enthusiast club and yet you are deviating from the subject matter itself. Criticisms on how to spend your money and time is something that's irrelevant here. Can we please get back to technical discussions?

Totally agree with you on this. This is a forte forum. Let's stick to the technicalities and away with the nonsensical comments.

How bout Michelin PS3? heard that it is very quiet but "a little bit" more expensive.

A little? More like way more expensive if you were to compare to Kumho tyres. PS3 is approximately rm500 a pieces while Kumhos are say RM200 ish. Correct me if I am wrong.

Eh size 16" tyre profile 55? Ours is 215/45/17. So expect it to be more expensive! Probably by RM50-80.

If you were to compare the quality of songs between mp3 and the FM receiver, generally your mp3 sampling rate is 128kbps and above. for FM it's 96kbps. Hence the difference on sound quality.

What? I thought FM is just an analog demodulator, so the sampling quality should be exactly like how the radio station broadcasts. If there is some kind of digital sampling involved, I referred to this site http://www.cs.cf.ac.uk/Dave/Multimedia/node150.html and it quoted FM at 88.2kBps = 705.7kbps (1 byte = 8 bits).

My understanding of why FM loses out is not really on the sampling rate but the distortion through the medium (air) as well as the quality of the receiver circuit.

So to get better FM quality, get a better antenna and a better ICE unit :-)

Ok, out of topic  (my education background is on telecomms so can't help it  tongue.gif)
*
Yes, undoubtedly you are correct. What I assumed was that 96kbps is the audio quality sampling rate from most radio station transmitted through FM. but then again, I maybe wrong. tongue.gif
Iz,
No problem la... I just recovered from fever. Still on antibiotics though...
