QUOTE(tk10 @ Jul 19 2010, 01:51 PM)
i'm still trying to understand and find out why the majority of the buyers went for the 1.6LSX. i understand it is value for money, push start button, ECS, and many more (which i prefer as well) but what about tyre noise and slower acceleration? perhaps slightly higher fuel consumption can still be accepted but what about stiffer ride? is it practical to drive with 215/45R17 given the terrible roads that we have in malaysia? if we change to better tyre like michelin, does the tyre noise be reduced significantly? what about the ride with still low profile tyre? still stiff?

the question is, "is comfort being compromised for features, look (17inch rim), and cornering ability"?

when the market is filled with 1.6SX, i believe the resale value for the SX will be much better than the EX. is this generally true for used car market? demand for higher spec. exceeds lower spec.?
*
I would say We should be happy the stock rim of 1.6SX & 2.0SX comes with 17".
Bigger rims have better gripping & perhaps better cornering ability and best of all safety.
If wanna choose btw comfort & safety...I'd rather choose the latter.
Don't compromise safety... yes I know big rims xpensive & less comfort.. tongue.gif

Appreciate your informative comments and explanations  thumbup.gif , in particular from sifu izputra.  notworthy.gif  Now I understand why my EX's FC appears somewhat higher than expected, especially when it speeds.

Contrary to izputra's analysis, a SC manager asserted to me that BK improves FC, which I'd doubt, but lack the technical knowledge to question him then.

Also i did not realise fully syn oil does improves FC..  Used mineral oil for 1st service because i was told that for new car better get oil change more frequent, thus better use mineral oil in the 1st and 2nd service... then switch to fully syn subsequently.  Anyway, will follow your advice in my next 2nd service: use fully syn oil. Thank you again.  smile.gif
*
I believe Fully Syn improves FC becos of its viscosity which is 30. Mineral Oil is thicker if I'm not wrong.
So, is common, thinner oil our engine struggle less while thicker oil need more effort to push..

There should not have such law that we can't change our car emblem. I saw some proton car change their car to Mitshubishi and some from peroduo to daihatsu......that police must be short of "pocket money"....... whistling.gif

If there is such rule that we need to use back the "naza" logo, I think Forte sell will drop more than 30%......
*
True... I even saw waja totally mod to lancer GT outlook with mit badge also no issue/
I think that policeman wan kopi duit lah..
Ask him which act/law says that we cannot change the badge? If I kena block by him, I sure argue with him with no end.
I can even follow him to balai to justify if there's such law. (provided I'm free of time that time lah..hahaha)

mineral change every 5K.
Full syn change every 10K.

every service change oil filter...
My question is can the oil filter last 10K?

I believe full syn oil better protect our engine with minimum wear & tear compared with mineral.
just assume that full syn is fragrance rice and mineral is local low grade rice.
hahaha

I'm now using AutoLock Unbreakable Pedal Lock.
Got few types, long and short type, normal key, crosskey, round key.Mine is short with crosskey.(RM160+)

By the time when new forte is released,it will replace the existing forte which will probably be no longer in production.
Just like 8th gen civic replacing 7th gen civic & so on.

Just wondering why naza still selling their citra.Perhaps due to the high demand. By right rondo is replacing citra(known as carens elsewhere).

im wondering can we bring our own engine oil during service, since they only use petronas syntium for my 1k service?
*
You may try service at Service Dealer instead of Service Centre. They may allow us to use our own oil.
As for Service Centre, definitely not allowed....unless u bribe the technician there ..haha

Cockroach in the car. Damn, one big one small. Manage to hit one of them but i wanna get rid them all!

How? Can suggest?

put a cockroach trap (selling in supermarkets) in your car.
I use this product at home, very effective in catching lizards and cockcroach.

Damn..how i wish our forte comes with option for sunroof. I dont mind paying extra 3k for it. If this news is true, those 32 units are extremely a rare species.

*
How I wish my forte equiped with sunroof as well.
Can't imagine how beautiful the night scene on top during driving at night.

eh bro, the special/limited edition on got additional sunroof? watelse?

sunroof only...frm what I heard.
perhaps got different colour option as what taipan wrote earlier.

If there's a "limited edition" emblem at the rear would be much better.

Maybe it's for safety purpose, so that idiots won't put their heads out of the window hmm.gif

QUOTE(FrostLance @ Sep 11 2010, 12:08 PM)
yes its an old safety feature for children. My old Peugeot like that one
*
Nope... I don't think it's for safety purposes cause as u can see the shape of the rear door which is big at the upper part while small at the lower.(due to the rear wheel below)
And the rear windows is rectangular sliding vertically up & down.
This is all bcos of spacing limitation.
If the engineer can design the windows all the way down, it must be magic..hahaha

Does this apply to back windows only or Driver windows as well?
*
Driver's windows not affected as there's no obstruction at the lower part by the wheel.
