it's called smart driving.........and advanced planning of routes and timing.......

eg, i know if i start a journey at certain times, it will be heavily jammed, and if i wait 1/2 hr later, i probably will arrive at the same time.....so start later lah...... biggrin.gif

and don't charge at the red light, like some people like to do......

Dont forget the fuel meter drops much slower in the first half compared to the 2nd half. The reason is because the max reading of the meter doesnt reflect the max amount of fuel in the tank and in the fuel hoses which are consumed first before the needle starts to drop.

Using your consumption in the 1st half tank to assume u can cover the same distance with the 2nd half is wrong and inaccurate. Same for all cars. best way to measure consumption is by the 'fill-measure-use-fill again-measure' system which u did in your last post.

Cheers!

the forte's fuel gauge is completely linear......ie, they did not treaked it......at half tank, you will have gone exactly 1/2 the distance.........

some car makers tweaked their meter, to slow the needle in the beginning, and then drop faster in the end, to give a false impression of better economy.......nothing to do with fuel hoses......this practice was first started by ford motors in i believe the 30's in the usa........of all the cars i have owned, the one with the worst non-linear fuel gauge is the toyota avanza..........at 1/2 point, i will have gone 2/3+ of the distance, and it drops like a stone after that.....don't know if they do the same for vios.......
