i tink i tried 1 time. my key at the push start engine place. i forgot to take key out. but i manage to close door without any alarm alert me. is dat normal?  din try for second time yet haha

im wondering can we bring our own engine oil during service, since they only use petronas syntium for my 1k service?

I was trying to purchase a Forte.  For some reason i think KIA has been hiring some very bad sales.  I am from Penang, when i visited first showroom at Crystal pt, the sales gives me a feeling of suspicious that he tried to get us to put deposit whatever it takes.  My wife do not like it so we went to the second one at Greenlane.  Lagi teruk the sales fist leaves me and my wife alone under the hot sun alone to serve another guy that comes in later than us.  And when i ask him why does the wheel (actually its the metal disc directly expose beneath rim, where normally break pad press on top, i'm no expert in cars dunno what that calls) appears rusty?  He looks at me and say right to my face "you are not a car buyer, everyone knows rusty surface is good car". ??!!  i walk away directly. 
In short, i like the car, but i really dislike the sales.  They fail even as a simple information giver, whatmore they "suan" the customer.  The Honda sales are professional, even Perodua sales are much better.

I have the 2.0 since April and I enjoy the EPMS and after driving the Forte the other car feels like it does not have power steering. It is light when parking etc and I have not had any experiences whereby a slight turn would swing the car. I feel that it takes any corner  like any other cars and is comparable to my 07 Waja in terms of handling.

I really enjoy the 2.0 as it is really smooth and I can say good riddance to Proton as I enjoy the acceleration. I would also say that my petrol expenses have not gone up compared to my non CPS 1.6 Waja. Acceleration on the Waja was just pure crap as you really have to step on it and that explains why it cost more in petrol.

For normal cruising along Federal Highway the RPM is only 2000 and driving on the North South Highway you may find it difficult to stay within the speed limit as the car effortlessly cruises at 130km with full load.

Initially I thought the keyless entry and push start button was a gimmick but now I find it a really useful feature. So far I have no major problems with the car except for a small paint bubble. Although they have agreed to fix it for me I decline their offer as I guard my car jealously.

Initially I have my concerns about Kia as we had experience with the Kia Sportage before but I am comforted by the fact that each day as I drive along Federal Highway I am seeing more Forte and I don't think that many people would be so stupid to buy a lousy Korean car as I am sure many of us have read many reviews and tested many different cars. To be honest I didn't even bother to test the Vios or the City. I can only compare to the Sylphy but as I can remember there was nothing exciting about the Sylphy.

The hidden value of the car is also the 6 airbags, TCS and whatever gadgets which I hope I dont need to use but it is there as standard feature and this feature where can you get below RM100k?

People say don't judge a book by its cover and in this case is true. Just because it is Korean does not mean it is lousy. Read on and you will be suprised.

Ps. Was the 6 months waiting for the 2.0 and the numerous complains on false delivery worth it? I would say definitely yes. If you can afford it go for the 2.0. By the way my dad sold his CRV and we are waiting for the Hyundai Tuscon and I can say that even Hyundai also don't deliver on their promised delivery date as I am told it takes 4 months. So I guess if people say Korean cars are crap there must be something seriously wrong with the world as I believe the delays were caused by the unexpected demands by Malaysian and even globally. Put it plainly demand exceeds supply. By the way I find the Forte engine much more quietr than Hyundai's Tucson.

Thanks for your comments. Maybe this only happened to that test car since you own the 2.0sx, your experience should be more accurate than mine. However, i will try another 2.0 to confirm this. Others 2.0 owners may be you can share your driving experience regarding this to many other potential buyer out there. I have just booked a 2.0 forte today, the sa told me need to wait for 2-3 months. Anyway, since there are high demand (according to the sa) for this car i can only  wait. I really like this car even though 10/10 of my friends told me not to go for this forte due to no 2nd hand value, expensive spare parts, blah blah blah, i still placed the order. Hope that my decision is correct.

Also, thanks for others feedback as well.

Don't how it looks if install on our stock rim (17"). I mean the caliper cover. Anyone tried it?

Hi guy! Just wanna ask some questions regarding fc. I think my 2.0SX fc is on the high side....13-14L/100km, reading from the meter for the past 2 weeks. In the 1st week when I got the car, the reading was even worse, 15.5L/100km! So far, I've done 600++km and mostly city drive with average speed of 40-50km/h.
Care to share what's the ideal fc in such driving condition as mine cos' I've read here before some Fortezens manage to achieve 9-10L/100km. Is it normal the fc is high during the 'breaking-in' process for a new car or should I send it to SC?

Dear all potential buyers,

I write in this blog as an attempt buyer to purchase Forte and my experience left me with each and every regret.  To warn the potential buyers of Kia from Penang, especially Juru Autocity branch, i post my recent complaint to Kia HQ for reference below.  I am at a lost here and not sure what I should do.  I hope no one else will suffer the troubles that I been through.

Any 2.0 owner already change yours tires. Did you guys go to SC to reset ECU after doing that since ours 2.0 got the MDPS...

use ron97 for 2.0.. better.. ron95 in my car the engine knocking is very very bad.. + the sound and vibration coming from the engine is very loud.

I change to simota air filter got improve the FC and acceleration of the car
wanna do proper grounding and some good VS. heard improve FC on some cars.
