We're only comparing the 1.6EX and the Vios 1.5J so the ESC doesn't come into play.
*
thanks for correcting me on ABS.. forgot the full name. haha
btw Vios J only come with driver's airbag. where else in forte EX come with dual airbag for driver and passenger. biggrin.gif

Yes the Vios driver's side power window motor costs RM1000. The other power windows cost about RM 450 to replace not RM800. Did u check how much is the Forte power window motor replacement? U might be surprised. But how often do u change such parts anyway? I havent changed any of my power windows in the 7.5 years ive used my Vios and neither have any of my friends driving similar Vios as well.
*
never check yet coz never happen, maybe need to wait until 7.5 years before can get quotation.
and same with you la.. how often u change such parts anyway? tongue.gif

Well its for my wife. But the problem is she's practically got her mind set on a Toyota after seeing my good experiences with them for the past few years. Its gonna be difficult for her to go back to a Kia after her bad experiences with the current Kia. We're waiting for the Hyundai Avante to come actually.
*
then should wait for the avante.. rclxms.gif
we have few owners who had bad experience with old spectra also.. but still give another chance in Forte.

funny, when doing motor claim, price is not determine by workshop, is by adjuster.
mind u, ALL insurance company having big headache on motor claim, u think they are stupid and easily let workshop chop more on claim? it can be consider lucky if they decided to change de parts, if not, some of the parts may will be approve for knock back and use...

lol...
*
QUOTE(nite_eif @ Sep 24 2010, 10:11 AM)
Fuh..frontal accident is really costly compared to rear..bumper+grill+1 headlamp already 3k..but that s nazakia price..
to play safe during warranty better repair with them..later if wan to get cheaper, get the parts ourselves then give to workshop..
can get 40-50% cheaper..
*
hi all. its a standard la when come into insurance claim (by SC)
my gf own a vios 2009 and got hit from the back.

change new bumper + spray, reflector lamp, workmanship and some knock at the spare tyre compartment (sorry forgot the term).

and it cost rm6K++ (but who cares as the cost bear by the insurance)

and for Nicky, who's funny now?

QUOTE(phelix @ Sep 24 2010, 01:36 PM)
ok.. you are right, the claimable amount should be submitted by adjuster instead of letting the workshop simply whack.
nothing is funny le nicky is just that they might not know the procedure only..
let it be bah...  nod.gif
*
LOL. i know the procedure, but by just reading your post (Nicky) and your history as japs fanboy (same like cybermaster) make me butthurt. kakakaka
biggrin.gif

i tot its regarding the expensive cost.. which i also read at other website at the same time.
and yeah the cost determine by the adjuster after workshop/SC submit quotation for repair. tongue.gif

hahaha... lama dah tak masuk forum...
asyik dok ulang topik ni je...

when i'm driving my forte balik kg...
- i'd been beaten by saga, iswara, wira, etc (10 years old car) bcoz of they've intercooler at the front... so not feeling anything...
- i'd been beaten by civic, city, vios, latio, mazda etc bcoz of my wife sitting at passenger side & keep screaming when i performed zig zag skills using motorcycle lane... so not feeling anything...
- i'd been beaten by kancil, myvi, alza etc bcoz the driver has a 6th sense, he can overtake at sharp corners... he knows there's no car will come from the front... so not feeling anything...

opposite that, i've beated all the above bcoz
- my wife isn't the car...
- all cars above is driven by the lady, uncle, good husband who's think about family 1st...

so conclusion...
no matter how power/expensive the car you have, but if u don't have the BALLS, buy the cheap car & save your money for other things...

my 2 cents word...
*
well said epo. bile mau belanja makan ni?

i like that sentence......hahaha...xD

anyway, i always got ta pao by other drivers, no matter wat cars....i obey traffic rules(e.g. speed limit)
so, i got big car...even if i own bugatti veyron sport, i will still obey traffic rules....
that motorcycle that hit my car.....the 2 malay girls got no brain....a tiny pig brain....hahaha
serve them right...no motor 2 use, license gantung, kena saman RM300 for disobeying rules....
read their report, wanna say they are right...but when reading it, makes no sense...
'they saw green lights, so they cross the traffic lights, suddenly a car(my car) came from another direction to hit them....no sense right??'
the most stupid report/comment i've ever read....and also nid to carry a heavy load of cash for repairing jobs.....

oh...do u all knw, Forte bonet only, cost 2k+ to 3k???damn all parts are expensive....now nid wait for Front panel...which nt available in msia..nid import from Korea
*
that's normal if claim by SC. not only KIA. toyota also the same. my gf vios bumper replace & paint + some knock at spare tyre compartment costed rm6K++
but no worry coz it's claimed under insurance. so do you. chill dude.. the only that we should concern is the waiting time..

Went to service centre for 1k service yesterday, total dmg is Rm240.. They dont have Petro fully-sync 5w-30, so they given me Havoline fullly-sync 5w-40 by caltex which is cheaper Rm10.. = =..
Oil filter - Rm19
Drain plug washer - Rm4
Battery ring - Rm4
Fully sync 5w-40 - Rm210
Windscreen cleaner(??) - Rm5

Anyone can tell me the diff of 5w-30 and 5w-40?
*
next time ask them first what they're charging
from your list, you can save at least rm10 more if exclude drain plug washer, battery ring and windscreen cleaner (optional item)

did they wash your car?

rm70 per piece is normal ar? 4 pieces mahal jugak..
how do we know rims bengkang bengkok already, steering goyang at >100kmh?

this makes me thinking many times before upgrading rims..16 or 17'..
I got 15' steel stock rims still in store, anyone want? hehe
*
best bet is always 16"

ya.. rm70 is considered market price already.. if can get cheaper then it's better.

you can see the bengkang bengkok when do balancing.. they put your wheel on the balancing machine.. see the shape when tyre spinning.. if uneven then sudah kong la. hahaha

other than that u can feel the car shaking at certain speed, or maybe steering goyang also..

Yes we're aware of that. Its not the matter of whether ure gonna use those features or otherwise. Its about if ure buying a car for a smiliar price then might as well take 1 which has these features. If u tell me to spend another 20K for some of these features then i would say it doesnt matter. But in this case we have 2 makes of similar price with and without certain features. So the features actually do play a role in the decision making.

btw..talk about tyre what is expected price to change all tyres...& when..after 2 year?
how about insurance & roadtax?how much...hehe..this is my 1st car (1st car hv to maitain by ownself to be right..hehe)
*
price for tyre varies from brand name and quality.
cheapo one rm250 can get (SIME). average rm400. highest in the range rm500 and 600 per piece.

so far after 31K km (10months), our stock tyre seems still in good condition.
if you take care your tyre properly (regularly maintain, check rim dent, balancing, alignment all tiptop), 2 years can use with no problem (estimated mileage covered in the region of 60K ~ 80K km (i just guessing only and based on Kumho Solus H17)
