Sigh that's sad. I tried the Aria today and I was having such a hard time typing on the on-screen qwerty keypad. I really don't want to use a stylus cause it makes typing slower
The Aria has a smaller screen. Anyway you'll probably want to install Swype, where you input text by just gliding over the letters you want without lifting your finger.
You'll get bored with the WP7 UI eventually. It's basically giant big squares. At least with Android you can switch to other launchers and customize with different types of widgets.
ithe ip4 display looks a lot brighter n vivid. Guess there's really a big difference between retina display and slcd/tft. Oh well, one really cant have the best of both worlds.
Really? I think the HD looks brighter, but the icons in IP4 are designed better. They should compare the homescreens.
Not everybody thinks SGS is king. It's got a nice Super AMOLED screen, but it's build quality feels plastic and it's a fingerprint magnet. Also it's got lag issues. I've tried both and I prefer the regular HTC Desire. The HTC Desire also won T3's Phone of the Year.
What I'm hoping for is another phone about the size of the original Desire but with better specs. The Desire HD2 has a big screen but also has the same resolution as Desire and a battery with lower capacity than the Desire.
And I wish HTC would use white or silver more often. Quite tired of seeing their dull brown/gray Desires.
Desire Z is definitely not my option because it's too heavy at 180g. My Nokia N86 at 148g already weighs down my shorts. Also, I don't need or want a physical QWERTY keyboard.
I'd just like the Desire form factor with better software hardware specs.
Based on the HardwareZone review, I'll probably not be getting the Desire HD. The screen looks bland and the battery life is atrocious. Think I'll just wait for their next series of smaller Android phones.
From the review "we'd have preferred to see the same overall package squeezed into a device with a 3.7in screen like the original Desire". Which is exactly what I said I would like a few pages back. I hope they intend to release another phone around the same size and weight of the original Desire, but with all the CPU/GPU/RAM/OS specs of the HD.
but the whole point of the hype surrounding our baby is the humongous 4.3"" display. If the screen was the same size as desire or DZ den i doubt it will have that much hype.
I think it could still be hyped even if it had a smaller but better quality screen like Super AMOLED or IPS. I'm not questioning the computing power or flexibility of the Desire HD. But really I think the disadvantages of a bigger LCD screen outweigh its advantages. 164g is really too heavy for me as a phone (which is why I didn't get the N900). Even my N86 at 148g feels like a dead weight sometimes.
Yes, the Desire HD will have a bigger screen but the resolution's still 480x800 so you're not gaining much. To be frank, I'd rather buy the iPhone 4 than the Desire HD even though I loathe Apple's business practices. I spent some time playing with the iPhone 4 just now. It's a really well-designed phone. Much better than the 3GS in both hardware and software (except maybe the metal antenna). I can see why people will buy it. It looks good, feels good, has tons of games to play. The IPS screen really makes my Hero's screen look dull in comparison.
Of course this is my early conclusions based on YouTube and photos of the Desire HD. Maybe in person the screen will look fantastic and the weight and reduced battery life will be worth it. I really prefer Android as an OS to the iOS but still I think most Android phones don't have as much "heart" put into their overall package as the iPhone.
Plus the Android OS appeals to the geeky side of me. And the best phone in the market now for Android is DHD IMHO. So nice screen or not, i'll give the DHD a shot. Something to play with until the next Android super 1.5gHz Gingerbread phones turns up.
I'll definitely give the DHD a test too even if I don't intend to buy it now. Just curious to how it looks and feels like.
the sound is not soo good altho got dolby/srs.. but the camera is great
The hemorrdroids review says the DHD camera is actually one of the best he's seen? Hmm... I'm surprised. I thought the 8MP was for show-off specs only.
