If you put the DHD beside SGS, IP4, and Wave, the screen really looks more washed out.

Battery life of HTC Desire HD compared to Desire and HD2:
user posted image
This image is from Eldar Murtazin's Mobile Review website. However it's in Russian, so I translated the part about the battery life here:
QUOTE
For complete results, I conducted two simple tests for the duration of the unit while playing on it to music and watch videos. Results you can see below.
- Listening to music (the screen is turned off, the music with a variable bit rate from 128 to 320 kbps)
- View the video (a movie in the resolution of 704x400 pixels)
in all modes of active network (only mode GSM ยป), Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are disabled

I'm sure they have good reason delaying it. so give a little more patient guys.

I bet it's because the Malaysian market is small.

Actually don't think I'll actually buy the DHD. Too big, weights a lot and battery life sucks. The screen quality also disappointing.

I'll probably wait for the successor or buy the Google-sanctioned Nexus S.

Not everybody knows where you live, dude. When you say "here" people assume you mean Malaysia because LYN is a Malaysian-oriented site. rolleyes.gif

So they'll pick the SGS over it. I think I would too because of the Super AMOLED and better battery life. But SGS is getting a bit old, I'll wait for its successor.

Is the Desire HD using S-LCD or normal LCD?
I've been reading conflicting reports everywhere.
GSMArena used to put SLCD in the specs, but now changed it to LCD.

Besides the screen, I also prefer the back of the DZ. The DHD's back looks like it's made up of patches.

Nice information Daijoubu! I'm surprised people say DHD's screen is on par with iPhone 4 though. I was playing with an iPhone 4 unit the other day and the display looked really good and crisp. And although the DHD's screen is big, most of the side-by-side comparisons I've seen on YouTube it looks washed out.

I bet if the dhd was a samoled, we will be paying 3.6k, u like???

I doubt it'd be that expensive. That's almost RM1,000 more for just an improved screen.

Haven't reach 2500 posts yet. When we reach that then we'll go to V2.

So is it just exclusive to DiGi? Can we buy it in other retails shops, like PDA Gadgets or PDA Expert?

Z? O_o? much heavier than DHD. do u really need the pad?
*
No, but I prefer the design. Also the screen same resolution as DHD, but smaller so will appear sharper. And confirmed will be SLCD. smile.gif

who care about the SLCD ... u got 4.3 size screen. that is enough already

The resolution is also important. Although 4.3 inches, the resolution is the same as the Z and regular Desire. That's why the DHD appears washed out, HTC got lazy and didn't increase the resolution.

Also for some mysterious reason, they felt like giving a smaller capacity battery in the DHD compared to the Z and old Desire.
