Is it? Sound good, because personally I felt iPhone 4 screen is very nice d, if comparable then has clear our doubt whether the screen is nice or not? Thanks

HTC UK says its LCD, not SLCD
http://www.facebook.com/htcuk/posts/161836...d_comment_reply

HTC Malaysia say DZ is SLCD, DHD is TFT.
http://mytechnews.info/b/2010/10/update-ht...m-htcsense.html

Not saying it is a bad screen. But most side by side comparisons between Samsung Galaxy S (SAMOLED), Iphone 4 (IPS LCD), DZ (SLCD) and DHD (regular TFT) shows that TFT have the least attractive screen, followed by SLCD, then followed by both SAMOLED and IPS.

So far there is no 4.3" SLCD in the market yet. Even HTC HD7 doesn't use SLCD.

Nice information Daijoubu! I'm surprised people say DHD's screen is on par with iPhone 4 though. I was playing with an iPhone 4 unit the other day and the display looked really good and crisp. And although the DHD's screen is big, most of the side-by-side comparisons I've seen on YouTube it looks washed out.

There is not much point now debating about the actual display type, whether is SLCD of LCD/TFT whatever. Just wait for the actual launch tomorrow - then we will know what we will be getting in Msia

Go and see/judge for yourself whether the display quality is good enough for you. If it is, then good. If you deemed it inferior and screen display is an important criteria - I will suggest you consider the Samsung Galaxy S or the other dark side iPhone 4. I must say the SGS display is fantastic , in my opinion looks better, more dazzling, crisper and sharper colors than the iPhone 4 ( I compare with my son's Spore bought unit ). But the SGS carries along with it several weakness which I will not elaborate anyore

I bet if the dhd was a samoled, we will be paying 3.6k, u like???

I doubt it'd be that expensive. That's almost RM1,000 more for just an improved screen.

My point actually is, that there isn't much to debate. Two official sources mentioned that it isn't SLCD. And there is no reason to think that Malaysians might get a device with different screen from the rest of the world.

My stance is that display is just another spec. Everyone wants the best spec on their phone to justify their RM2k over purchase, but whether they actually need it or not is very debatable. For me, as long as it doesnt hurt my eyes, i'd rate user experience, reliability and responsiveness as higher priority then a high tech screen.

+1 .. any "LIKE" button here in lowyat.net? tongue.gif

SLCD > TFT lcd.. everyone wants the best for every money we spend and it's not wrong to feel disappointed for DHD to not have the SLCD.. but i sold my galaxy S and keep the dell streak which is only using tft lcd and i've no complain wutsoever..
i hope u guys get what i meant. i dont need super amoled or slcd, but it's a fact slcd / super amoled in general is better than tft lcd.

let's rest the case.. no point talking bout this thing again n again. many users in other forums confirm bout the tft lcd but it shouldnt be that bad right.. smile.gif
