you got the Mini after a day you submit your application?

they mail it to your address or you pick it up yourself?

Actually the form was summited last week on Wednesday Yesterday in the morning i got a call from O2 thet my phone will arrive during the evening and i go and collect it at 6pm . its pretty cool. toke them less than 5 working days in total to delivery the phone plus the processing.

I think if the delivery is in KL the process should be faster cos mine are send up here from KL.

Sry the internet was down for few days. just recover.

Well ya it actually let me inspect the unit , I myself who open the box was brand new without any warranty sticker like we bought from outside shop who usually like to stick warranty sticker here and there who make the internal looks like got all patcher here and there.. tongue.gif It's look clearn and tidy only the Sirim Blue sticker only available. No worry cos i got it from the Disti so they only note down the serial number for the batery and unit no other thing to ask they even told me how to make a one to one change if the unit got problem. i really appreciate the service.

feins, thanks for the heads up! As I am really really tempted to get one as well.

Just out of curiousity, r there any other disti options besides FMG? Last but not least, it is not stated that the 256MB SD mem anywhere in PB's site. Is it bundled together?
*
Well phobian you can actually choose where you want to collect the unit nearnest to your location. After you had summit your application you can call to them ans they will ask you where you want the unit to be collect rathen FMG there had few distry and authorise reseller you can look at O2's home page.

For the 256MB SD ram its come together with the unit. Kingston SDRam not bad at least it come with a good brand ram instate of some cheap plug MMC.

Cos if without the 256MB ram you unit actually only left 7.5Mb of usable ram after all application was loaded once startup so its likely to be said its useless without the External Ram.

In the package the here are the things that come along.

1 Main unit
1 Litium Iron Battery
1 AC adapter
2 Stylus
1 Stereo wired headset with microphone
1 Lather Carrying case
1 USB cable for charging and data synchronisation
1 Companion CD (contains Microsoft® Outlook® 2002 and Microsoft® ActiveSync® 3.7.1)
1 User manual
1 Quick start guide
1 256MB SD memory card (Mine are Kingston)

Cheers.

feins, thanks for the prompt reply!  thumbup.gif

If all things go well, I will ought to get one.

Reason I asked if we can get from other disti is that I understand there were several cases that arises when it comes to post-sales related issues with FMG.
For the time being, I m hoping to get it from SiS as it would be easier for me to escalate the problem *touch-wood!*
*
Hi phobian,

No problem for that if u get it from SiS as there is only FMG around here in Kuantan so i have no choice but not worry as for warranty and replacement we deal direct with O2 remember one thing there is no Warranty card nowadays once you bought your O2 so the only thing we need to do is register direct from the web and the warranty start from that onwards.

Cheers. ! and welcome to the group. ! thumbup.gif

since when Mini got 256MB SDram by kingston? if so it wud be blazin fast, beatin all the rest of ppcs in the market flat hands down yada yada yada  whistling.gif
mini only got built in 64MB RAM and 64MB Flash ROM, and it comes bundled wif 256MB SD Card.. where got EXTERNAL RAM  shocking.gif

the bundled 256MB SD Card is meant as/for storage purporse, and yes the mini got built in allocated of 7.56MB of storage space

for the Mini to run, it relies on the on board 64MB of RAM, but only 57.41MB available to user and, the 64MB Flash ROM IIANM is used for storing the OS etc...only 7.56MB available to user as storage.

cheers. just my spamcents. tongue.gif

Thanks for the clarification but the SD ram Card doesn't means the SR ram use on PCs . only the Ram call SD Flash Card.

Indeed the 256MB ram are for storage and its indeed ack as an external Ram where you can toke the ram out if you like cool.gif There are 64MB Ram of share memory compare to 128MB for O2 XDA IIs. But i use to have all the thing to be store at the SD card to free up the internal storage incase of unnecessary situation. Cos the 7.5MB can't fit even a small movie clip. cry.gif
