OK.... today I wasn't too Buzy so i finished my guide...
will take a few post cus i tried to post 1 shot... many pics just wouldn't show up...To all 56K users, Very sorry!! 1. We start out by taking off battery cover, Battery, SIM card & the SD Memory card. ![]() 2. Remove Rubber Plug using a small screwdriver. ![]() 3. Slightly push the middle latch inside with a small screwdriver and gently lift up the middle part. ![]() 4. Now carefully pry open the sides also using Flat screwdriver. There are latches on both side. Use slight force. (you can see how the latches looks like in next Pic) ![]() 5. Finally Got it off!.. ![]() |

6. Easy, now.... Just remove 4 screws!
All The screws are the same length and size.. ![]() 7. Remove the black cover that is securing the camera & speaker. and remove the camera (gently pull it). ![]() 8. Now comes the hard Part!! Taking off the Front Cover... Use the small Flat screwdriver and push in between the USB & Handsfree and try to split the cover and the plastic side open. Like opening a durian. :-D ![]() 9. Work the same technique around the sides, very slowly but firmly... pop it out.. (counter clockwise worked better for me) ![]() |

10. Now that you've managed to loosen the front cover...
careful the speaker cable.. Open up side by side and you will notice 2 "+" screws.. open them! 11. Also take off the front Pad connector ![]() Now you can split the Touch Screen (TS) from Main Circuit Board. This is the time to disconnect the Speaker Cable, just use a sharp tweezers and pull the connector. Warning! Don't pull the wire! (pic of the connector in step 14) |

12. Now to remove the TS!!
OK. From the front push at the bottom part first! ![]() *notice the small plastic thing's location.... 13. Turn back facing inside. There is a latch on the other side, just push it away from the TS and push the TS out. ![]() Slide it down ![]() and ta-daaa!! IT's out. 14. So this is how it looks like.. ![]() 15. Now Transfer the speaker to the new housing... take note that there is also a small guide. If it doesn't go in smoothly then it is in the wrong position. Don't force it, it is 1 way in! ![]() 16. Time to take out that Phillips Screwdriver Again... 4 screws, 1 hidden..this is to take off the front pad. ![]() ![]() This post has been edited by No1n$anE: Sep 5 2006, 11:11 AM |

17. As you can see slight difference on the Pad..
![]() 18. OK ,,, easy job now... transfer everything to the new housing!! Mic, Vibrate motor & Front Pad!! ![]() 19. TS LOOK SO DIRTY!! ![]() ![]() 20. Now all the way it should be easy!! So I'm not going in too details. Put in the TS, Main Circuit Board & connect back the Speaker connector B4 Screwing in the 2 screws. ![]() ![]() 21. When Closing back the front housing pay attention to the speaker cable again... nip & tuck it in.. ![]() ![]() |
