Hello all

i got some question here about overclocking my Phenom II X3 720 batch number 0906EPWM

my proc is stable when unlock to quad core and oc to 3.6GHz 200*18 (idle 38°c and full load OCCT test 1hour 47°c)
my question is, why i cant push over 3.6GHz like other people's proc ?

check this out - Success OC
my system setting as below :

Mobo - Asrock 870 Extreme3
Proc Cooler - Hyper N520
Ram - 2x2GB Team Elite 1333
HDD - 320GB Barracuda
GC - XFX 5770

dude try loosen you memory timing to 9-9-9-27-36 with 1.65v

check your ht link ... make sure its the same as NB frequency and around 2000+-

get xtra cooler for your mobo chipset and cpu.

last hahaha pray you're lucky enuff to get 4g lol whistling.gif

or maybe you can try this:
200x19=3800mhz
201x19=3819mhz
202x19=3838mhz
... ...
210x19=3990mhz
211x19=4009mhz

see how far this chips can reach?
and since this is deal with base clock, so have watch out other clock like HT link clock, CPU NB clock, DRAM clock.

thx so much for that information/advise, bro Saturn..will try it later notworthy.gif

now i tested my system 250*14 - 3.5GHz without touch multiplier.
at this setting my temp is 42°c on idle and 55°c (side panel casing closed - not so good air flow i think) when i put a stress using OCCT for 10minutes
i reduce my ram speed to 1066 and become 1333 when i push up my bus speed
HT link and NB i adjust by myself to 2GHz

i think go back to stock setting first, then only try to unlock.
because after unlock, the overclock ability of the chips is different already.
but what motherboard you are using?

maybe not the same.

"With ACC turned off, the X3 720 ran Prime95 for an hour at 3.3 GHz before we shut it down (3.4 GHz would crash almost immediately). Using the same voltage and 16.5x multiplier, we tried the same thing with ACC enabled and all four cores cranking. It didn’t take long at all for that fourth core to spit up an error, forcing us to scale back to 3.2 GHz for a stable run."
