I got the device last week and tested it with the Cat5e cables provided in the package and it worked right out of the box. rclxms.gif

However I wanted to use my existing concealed LAN cables during renovation 5 years back because my wife does not allow to lay exposed cables around the house. The problem challenge is that the LAN cables were installed to reach different locations and no direct path from the living room to the AV room upstair. So I got to make a few interconnects and after some hardwork in connecting those LAN cables different locations, I finally got it to work last night !!

Here are my comments :

1. The device is surprisingly small and light, and it doesn't required external power supply. I actually had doubt when I first saw it and was told no need power supply.

2. The biggest attraction to me is the build-in remote IR extender into the device itself!

3. The device is really simple to use and works well. However so far I have only tested for Byond video signal of 720p and 1080i. I have also not tested the HDMI audio because I don't have a HDMI AVR.

4. Excellent support from the TS and he allowed me to have the options of returning the cables if my existing cables can work.

5. All in all, together with the cost and the support, I am very happy with it and highly recommend it if you need to have a HDMI extension especially when IR extender is needed as well! thumbup.gif

hmm.. interesting..

so what is yout comment on the HD video signal.. is there any different in terms of PQ on both tv..?

Unfortunately I can't comment much on it because my living room is still having a plain o Wega CRT TV. Actually I do see the black level is a bit too grey on my HD projector upstairs. Not sure if it's due to the B.yond signal, or the projector's age (more than 2000 lamp hrs). I really do not have a reference to compare to at this moment because my B.yond was just installed last weekend and I don't have any HD display connected directly it to see the actual B.yond PQ quality. I wish I could bring the B.yond decoder upstair or the projector downstair but I can't. But I thnk I will try to bring down either the PS3 or TViX to play through the HDMI extender to compare, maybe during this long weekend and provide further comment after that.

ctrlaltdel88,

I encountered display at remote side becomes pink'ish color at times, which I think it usually happened when some electrical stuff got swithed on or off like lights, fan, or even air-cond auto control. I could recover the color back to normal by unplugging the RJ45 plug either at the DDC or TMDS and plugging it back again (does this reset or resync the HDMI signal?) Any idea what is the issue? Some electrical glitch causing the problem?

Thanks.

Jack.
