later who knows after 1 year or 6 months time, people start having issue with their nv cards doh.gif

for now me target ati cards laugh.gif
*
only thing i dun like abt NV now is that their development schedule is way behind compared to ATi... and ridiculously high cost and heat...

that's the main reason i prefer ATi now...

how bout performance? 3mb vs 6mb big diff in overall performance?
*
not much difference, seriously speaking...

in fact for gaming, i think for now 3-4MB is the sweet spot for dual core and 6-8MB for quad core...

from reviews...

desktop E8000 (6MB) series compared with E6000 (4MB)/E7000 (3MB)... clock for clock (FSB included), not much difference in games...

for now, clock speed is still the most important, when comes to performance...

Now i'm confused too...so how does turbo boost and HTT works?

Turbo boost is shutting down all the cores except 1 and boost it's clock speed? and what about HTT? is it like i5 is dual core and has 4 threads...so it's HTT?
*
nod.gif

anyway, imho these 2 features are over advertised...

@astria, but still even without optimisation, won't GTA4 and Supcom2 perform better on an i7 than an i5?

since the processing power of i7 > i5?

Added on July 20, 2010, 11:49 pm@bat, wait for the APU?
*
hard to say... since the clock speed of the quads are so low...

but battery life doesn't really go with gaming no? (9 cell battery on a netbook =D)

@astria, so in terms of gaming N82JQ won't have alot of performance benefit over the A42Jv, but if i'm doing video editting and processing? will the i7 help alot?

Added on July 21, 2010, 12:03 am@dackson, over 5Ghz? heat and power consumption? also is it stable at that clock speed? even desktop models don't run at that speed (factory clock) right?

htt iirc means running multiple processes on 1 core. tb = increasing the clock speed, like overclocking it
*
video editing, of course Core i7 quad is better than dual... we re talking abt 8 threads vs 4 threads here...

Aspire One 521 - Athlon II Neo K125 + HD4225 with 348MB SidePort + 6-cell battery, 5hrs of real running time...

the number is derived by various review sites...

gone are the days of AMD = hot + power sucker...
