funny i still looked back. from my understanding if one person dont look its because they are uncertained what they purchase so everytime they see a nicer os or hardware they switch.

the current state of symbian is fine due to qt. its like how many ppl u know how to even update their phone? this just my opinion

Its really funny that you looked back... laugh.gif

The current state of Symbian is not okay. Otherwise you wont be looking at Maemo or Meego. Just face it. Qt is not going to happen in near future.

How many people update their phone? Er, what are you trying to say really? I dont know what kind of people you met, but I met a lot of people buying Nokia 5800/X6, for what? Garmin, LOL... they know nuts about how Symbian works, dont know how to install programs, or even update their phone. Still stucked at V20 with their AP phone.

You buy the wrong phone when you are uncertain. Look back or not, depends on your adaptive ability to the new OS/UI. For young generation, its not going to be a problem. Thats why Im worried about Nokia especially Symbian. Right now, the boom generation like my dad struggle to learn anything related to computing but they still buy Nokia for its ease of use. The sales doesnt look bad, but are you willing to develop software which couldnt sell. You bought any Symbian related software? I think Im asking for something I already knew the answer.

You know why Google's Android works? Why Google willing to give them away for free? And why Apple buy that AdMob company. This is where the future is heading, most probably. Free software with ads or pay to remove the ads. It guarantee the survival of these developers which is why they are flocking to Android and Iphone OS.

** WTH, my bro log me out...DAMN

i just realize ppl here making funny comparison

They not comparing apple vs apple.

symbian with 1ghz procoessor vs 1ghz processor SGS/android (NO)

but they compare symbian 434mhz without 3D hardware with 1ghz processor with 3D hardware. I dont see how can it be compare?

Its not funny. Rather you should look at why they are being compared.
Just take a look at Symbian latest offering. N8 is nowhere to be seen. So what the most up-to-date device you can compare to? Its 5800 and N97. Its Nokia who is being stagnant while others are upping their game. Even with 680MHz Symbian 3 N8, its still lag behind the competition. Android is already preparing to move onto 1.5GHz dual core next year. So we cant compare them? So we must wait long long until Nokia release something with 1GHz then only compare?

We dont buy our phone cheap, thats why comparison makes sense.

It's like me "HooHa, I have a powerful phone, 1Ghz hummingbird and 512mb RAM of a phone, itssssssss SGS!!", but in the end, it lags sometime. I think iPhone is still the winner for lagless phone.

Iphone OS does not try useless fancy stuffs like Android did. This is where simplicity wins. It has always been. Nokia sold millions of phone just because of that. Android still far from being perfect but progress is there. Most importantly, even though the current Android 2.1 (to some extend Android 2.2) still unable to fully use all those ram on their device but seeing a need for them plus a plan on future updates which would make them useful is why people see hope in these devices.

So what did Nokia gives you with your limited resources phone over the years with their so called updates? Cracking their heads on how to find ways to save 1-2mb of RAM and then introduce a new feature. More is always better than less. I would not mind if there are ways to upgrade the ram/processor but there are none...
