Hi, I'm a newbie with planted tanks.

One question, will shrimps mess up the HC? or eat them?

Also any idea what's the local common name for HC?

Thanks!!

Hi guys,

I currently have 10 cherries and 2 otos in my 2 ft tank. and spotted a few baby cherries.

just spotted a strange looking bug, which i think is a dragonfly nymph. googled and read that this thing kills small fishes and shrimps. any one with experience? how to kill it without manually removing them. they hide quite well..

Will SAE harm the little shrimps?

Thanks!

hi guys,
still need help solving the dragonfly nymph problem. how to remove/kill them before they kill all my cherries. any pointers?

i think any fish that will eat them will probably eat the shrimps too rite?

Thanks!

tried tweezers, but i'm too slow for them.
managed to scoop one out with a cut mineral water bottle when it came out in the open today.

i guess there are at least 2 more hiding among the plants...kinda tempted to put 2 dwarf cichlids in. but they'll probably eat up my shrimps too..

I have 10 adult cherries. 2 were previously berried up till last week. I have spotted a few baby cherries before.

Thanks guys! i think i'll probably try n manually catch the dragonfly nymph as i see them.

tragedy happened in my tank. left for a short break, came back 3 days later and found new members. my housemate thought my tank looked boring with shrimps and just 2otos and added tetras, danios and 2cory catfish.

and guess what i found on the tank bottom. heads and bodies of my cherry shrimps...3 of them.. and so far no more sightings of the babies..sigh.

have a few more shrimps in there. but i dun have an extra tank to separate them. but i guess there are still hiding spots for them. hopefully.

@booby, i feed my otos algae wafers say 2-3x a week.
