Sifu's new here. How do i get started on getting a planted tank.


I have 1feet nano tank( Ocean free set) = 1 lighting and 1 HOB filter.

I read through about CO2 and DIY CO2. Now i would want to make a CHEAP aquascape tank. Or i should just aquascape with plants that do not require CO2 injection( Java Moss / Marimo). My ulterior motive was to create a Breedable CRS/RCS shrimp tank. As long as the tank can breed these shrimp can already.

But then again, i must also at least put some vegetation rite? Or i can actually left it bare tanked?

But as a start i will try some RCS. See how it goes, then only to CRS. Btw ADA amazonia or amazonia 2 is there much difference?? Going with amazonia FTW.

Ya, would get 1 when my 3feet tank cycled. Btw i got a clown knife fish 5-6'' doesn't want to eat. Try feeding with frozen blood worm, floating pellets( just give a shot lol), Sinking flakes(Those specially for guppy and tetra punya)

Guys, why my java moss like dat 1. Btw i plant java moss b4. It was suppose to be dark green/green. I bought mine from EastAqua at MidV. The Moss is inside the plastic, so i suspect it lacks of something. Maybe phosphorous or iron?? Or wadever. Or is it ok?? icon_question.gif

Substrate:GEX red packet

Lighting: 3.5 watt per gal. 6 hours of light at midnight till 6am.

Temperature: 28 Celcius during day. 26 at midnight(Air-cond)

No Co2, No fertilizer. Tank running for 3days.

get all in one fertilizer would be enuff if u dont plan on getting co2 bro!

took me weeks/months to hunt for it! finally caught it yesterday while it was sleeping.. i think it woke up in the net. i left it in the net ontop of me tank hihhihi

Lol, coz i see at 88mart got drawf and its cheaper at M.V then i buy lo. Then after planting,then only i realize, why some of the grass brown di(after 1day). Hmmm, if my grass 'really cant' make it, then i will just get some at M.V(immersed). The fertilizer, is there any alternative other than sea chem flourish excel?? Maybe some budget dry fertilizer that does not contain copper that can be bought at home depot???

Btw, if i put moss inside the substrate is it ok?? lol coz lazy tie it up. This is my 1st planted tank btw, so sifu's here tunjuk ajar sikit. TQ TQ tongue.gif

Do you guys have any moss plant to let go?? I think i better switch to mosses 1st. Just starting. Budget also tight lol. Pm me, if you guys just trimmed some moss and happily to share some.

But that seems to be something like DIY co2. Coz still have to refill at every 20days. If cost efficient, is excel ok anot? rm25 that lasts for my tank(4-5gal) for 1year lol. I dont want much. just for my drawf grass to survive and grow like snail( not expecting to carpet).

Dunno about cories but I have successfully cured ich on iridescent sharks(ikan patin) with normal salt on 31c.

Hey dude, where u get ur 3L co2 tank ?? Btw 1L co2 tank can last how long on 1bps?? How much per refill on 1L???
