QUOTE(crewmy @ Aug 16 2010, 11:29 PM) Depending on where u are, the price could be reasonable... the tank is non-aluminum, 2+ litrestank = rm208 -> apa size? Aluminium 1L? manual regulator = rm80 -> can get around 60 - 70 ringgit check valve x 2 = rm4 -> saw one LFS selling at RM1 only, but u got to go all the way to Ara D bubble counter = rm12 -> no comment, shd be OK mini diffuser = rm16 -> I guess this must b the Ista brand, be careful, the u shape part can break easily. If u need to detach a tube from it, make sure you hold the right part when pulling. total damages = rm320 -> and u forget the tubes? just joking I am sure you got them too. manual regulator that's the cheapest i can found after going to a few shops tubes i got free, from a ''secret'' source heh so i think ok la for paying a bit extra for the regulator since i got the tubes free after bought the conventional size regulator, i saw ISTA brand manual regulator which is really tiny, wonder if it's reliable |

bought it at kian weng... i think only 1 more left
model is At-3335 i'm not sure if suitable for 1.5 ft or not... i'm using it for my 50cm aquarium which is only a little bit less than 2 ft changing to canister filter coz my HOB filter doesn't spread my CO2 bubbles around the aquarium This post has been edited by imr4n: Sep 13 2010, 10:20 AM |

QUOTE(maxtrix @ Sep 18 2010, 01:02 AM) Hi, I just bought a 2.5kg CO2 system from Mudah. Including regulator, valve and bubble counter. U need 2 check valves.. 1 is between tank n bubble counter, the other is between counter n diffuser. It is difficult to set the output bps from a newly filled tank because of the high pressure. Make sure the main valve is always open. Through time it will be much easier to adjust the bps. But I found the pressure shown in the regulator is not consistent, sometimes 1100psi, sometime drop to 500psi. And I tried to set the bubble to 1bps, but after a while the bubble stop and the water in bubble counter back flow. How do you guys adjust the regulator to fix the bubble to 1bps? This is the first time I use CO2 tank. I connect the regulator to the CO2 tank, then connect to check valve, then bubble counter then diffuser. Is it correct? |

To roz, u made the same mistake as mine when I first started the planted aquarium project.. Both the aquazonic light and the classica hang on back filter are the crappiest equipment they were selling.. The filter can overflow and leaks due to the cover being so close to the rim of the filter body.. Change the gravel to ADA soil and better quality hang on back filter.. U don't need bio ring for hob filter

QUOTE(Roz @ Sep 19 2010, 05:27 PM) what's ur budget? if ur thinking long term, invest in a canister filter.. if u want to try2 first and upgrade later.. any china brand hang on back is fine (except classica).. to me, i'd prefer one with a built in surface skimmer.. example is sun-sun brand http://www.sunsun-china.com/en/Product/Pro...nfo.aspx?ID=426next, invest on ADA soil and a fan.. those two really makes a big different to ur low budget tank later get a CO2 tank and better lighting after that u'll realise ur hooked to this hobby and will spend spend spend for other accessories hehe the filter is about rm25, u can get it at 88 pets mart at pandan indah or sunway This post has been edited by imr4n: Sep 19 2010, 07:01 PM |

if u have rm200 bucks and not rich.. u'd better invest on a CO2 tank than an eheim filter... prioritise urself.. it's easier to achieve a nice planted tank using chapalang filter + CO2 than using Eheim filter with no CO2...
i've observed lots of aquarium using chapalang filters, as long as u spend more time looking after them, the result is as nice as a branded filter not trying to say eheim filter is crap but i think it's overrated for the price |

QUOTE(douge @ Sep 20 2010, 06:15 PM) Dear Drew/@Imr4n, i think for a 1.5 ft tank, 2213 is okay.. but since ur spending 200 bucks for a filter.. might as well go straight for 2215 so u can still use it if u upgrade ur tankThanks for your input. Appreciate that. I am planning to get CO2 tank + solenoid soon. Currently i am using HOB filter for my 1.5ft tank. I was thinking to change my filter to Eheim 2213 but some of the LFS owner saying that 2213 is not suitable for my small tank. The water flow rate is too strong. Any opinion on this? Many thanks Lee CO2 tank is a necessity.. solenoid is not unless ur a super busy person, manual regulator is adequate just that u have to adjust the bubbles more regularly |

QUOTE(sexyme @ Sep 22 2010, 02:28 AM) I was using 2215 for my 1.5ft tank. It was too strong. I had to get a lily pipe to slow things down. 2213 shud work. If all else fail, get a nice lily pipe XD and yes, co2 is more impt than good filter. but the filter is much more flexible, in that if u decide not to plant, u can still use the filter for bare aquarium with fish. or if u quit aquarium completely, u can use it to filter your morning coffee (byebye coffee bag) CO2 tank can use as weapon if perompak broke into ur house...sure pecah kepalahmm... co2 tank can also be used as fire extinguisher.... hmmm.... |

QUOTE(puppiesdreamland @ Oct 5 2010, 03:12 PM) Nvm, I wait my high fin finish up all my small fish then only start putting in plant. Can I know whether soil is compulsory? can it replace by stone that i used? If u noticed, this topic is version 5 already.. Spend time reading all the versions and u will gain more info on how to start a planted tank.. If u need more specific info, then u can ask them here.. My suggestion, 4 feet tank is pretty huge for Planted tank.. Unless u wanna spend thousand ringgit for it.. Good luckHow much for a grass cost normally? I were just wonder which place is cheaper to get some plants >.< Low Budget=P |

QUOTE(boygenetic @ Oct 18 2010, 12:06 PM) ok, got the light and a filter,( i also dunno wat filter, suck in water then dispose like waterfall or something like that) i like going to pets mart pandan indah coz lots of choices, but prices are fixed and not very friendly there.. aquatic paradise at sg kantan kajang is ok if u buy accessories, very friendly can ask for discount but they have limited flora and fauna stock.. i've stopped going to natural plant aquarium coz their shop now macam store room already, so messythen went to beach got some rocks and lot of rocks. now in process sterilizing. now havent get soil or any plants yet. in progress, in progress. |
