hi there aquaplanters,

I was given 2 small tanks and decided to do aquascaping. Ive downloaded the manual for it and began to take note what i need for this project, such as Penacs, BACTER, Clear Super, Tourmaline BS, ADA soils................

I was wondering is there a price list that i can refer to? do not want to be a dumbass walking into a store and ask how much is this, how much is that....can be quite embarrassing.

if someone can refer me to a price list or a link i would highly appreciated. once i got everything, i can start my project.

Thank you all in advance.

so i was sourcing for soil and asked the lengchai michanz for advice. hes very knowledgeable.

anyway, Im looking for soil near kl/PJ. the one i went to quoted me like RM150++ which i think a bit overkilled for a newbie.

so, anyone would suggest a great place KL/PJ for me to get soils and stuff, i would appreciate it. theres the whole list in PG 1 but would rather go to the one recommended by members.

Thank you all in advance.

*
no lah, not just soil. got the power sand, and other fertilizer.
i asked him 'im starting a planted aquarium, can you quote me on the soil and other necessary ingredient?" and he quote me that price.

i got 2 tanks given by a fren. very messed up tank so that i can start off with something.

the measurements are (for my easy reference) :

55cmX 24.5cm x 25.5 cm

40cmx21cmx22cm

anyone would recommend a affordable shop around kl/pj/probably cheras. duly appreciate it.
thank you all for guidance.

aiyoh, you helped me so much. the test power package doesnt have powersand and 5 elements, plant can grow meh? im assuming if w/o those elements will have slower growth. blush.gif

Thanks again , man, u very very helpful.

still to hear from members which shop would they recommend around kl/cheras/pj.

minchaz, im assuming your regular shop would be :

Natural Aquatic World (NA)
No. 17, Jalan SS19/6,
47500 Subang Jaya,
Selangor Darul Ehsan,
Malaysia.

Thank you all once again. thumbup.gif

bro.. don't be obsessed with the ADA setup.. the japanese are trying to screw u hehe

no need powersand and 5 elements pun ur plants can grow well.. god creates light, CO2 and minerals for plant growth

invest on those three sudah cukup.. trust me u don't want ur plants to grow too fast, nanti jadik hutan dlm air

OMG, is this true? i read online then downloaded articles, all using ADA soil. so im assuming aquaplant need ADA soil loh.
just out of curiosity, wat 'minerals' are you referring to....very very interested to know brows.gif

thanks again.

the black sand by the beach... Not sure can use bo. I find all beach sand to be buffering(increase pH)

What we need is RIVER sand..

but for plants. we need soil LOL.

hello to all the big bros and sis of the planted aquarium thread =)

i was over at my japanese client's place on the weekend and fell in love with his Iwagumi aquascape aquarium.

so my question is are there any places or shops in kl/pj that is beginner friendly that would guide me through the process of starting up my own planted aquarium? not looking at making a Iwagumi aquascape just yet because after searching on the internet, it seems that that is an expert only aquarium and most probably a noob like me would totally destroy it... haha.

thank you for your help =)
*
me noob too but many forum members here damn pro. gave me lots of advice. can PM michanz. hes very knowledgeable.
from page 1 of this thread, there are e-book to d/l that can help you read. u need to visit pg1 to know more.

im starting soon, i got the thank, the filter and the lamp. just right now, no time to hunt for soil and plants.

good luck to u. rclxms.gif

my tank only consists of 2 big rock and had the filter running.
