hi guys,
still need help solving the dragonfly nymph problem. how to remove/kill them before they kill all my cherries. any pointers?

i think any fish that will eat them will probably eat the shrimps too rite?
Thanks!

Hi Otobot,

I suggest you manually remove it with hand or tweezer. There won't be many in your tank and they won't spread. So it will be much easier for you to control compared to snails.

It is not wise to use biological control as those that kill the nymph will most probably kill all your cherry shrimps.

Hope that will help. smile.gif

I have 10 adult cherries. 2 were previously berried up till last week. I have spotted a few baby cherries before.

Thanks guys! i think i'll probably try n manually catch the dragonfly nymph as i see them.

any other shrimp friendly fish to recommend besides oto?

Hi Otobot,
Any small fish such as green neon tetra and pygmy rasbora are suitable companions of small shrimps.
I, myself, have cardinal tetra co-exist peacefully with green shrimps and yamato shrimps.

PS: Green neon tetra's max size is 1", cardinal tetra's is 2"

Lesson that i learn from this thread...."No fish is safe for shrimp" and its true. Yup..neon tetra and pygmy rasboras can live peacefully with adult shrimp but its will be a massacre for the babies  tongue.gif . So if u are serious in keeping shrimp, i suggest u to setup a shrimp-only tank thumbup.gif..just my 2cent. Owh BTW, the only fish that i 100% recommend to be a safe tank mate for shrimp is.. the one n only...MR. OTTO  rclxms.gif

Generally speaking, I think the previous post was referred to normal size shrimp. No baby shrimps or fish are safe from fish even with guppies.
