Dang really envy you guys man. How i miss KL, anyways, whole week been shopping around all the LFS in MIRI and guess what? nobody does planted tanks here. Only 1 shop has some stuff but not much lah. No plants, and they only have Azoo plant treatment ( general dose) the lights are uber exp haiz, and well this shop has CO2 reactors and difusers but maaan they look really old lolx and dusty etc. SO will do ye old DIY with jello lolx always works! lolx. other than that the only lighting i managed to get is a simple nano sized one less than 1 foot lolx. for a 2.5ft tank haiz. nvm lah I cant find any soil anyways. Only one i found is just a 4.5kg bucket of terra soil.

Oh I cant get any rocks either!! >.< Looks like I'll have to go hunting at the nurseries and head to the beach for the "white sand" and drift wood soon. Anyways, I think i might head up to KL if i'm free for a weekend sometime soon i hope. Oh and if anyone has any used lighting for sale DO let me know. I'll get Michanz to purchase on my behalf then either post it to me or wait till i get back to collect.

But overall condition of the tank is a constant 23 degrees ( 24 aircon games room) so it's a very nice temp for moss breeding!!! lolx. Overall the plants which michanz sent to me are well, yet to be settled, they just sitting in the tank for now and actually growing! lolx.

Oh btw, Michanz, you still active in MAC forum arr? Any forum I can get in for WTB and WTS items? the online shop too exp lah lolx.

Guys, why my java moss like dat 1. Btw i plant java moss b4. It was suppose to be dark green/green. I bought mine from EastAqua at MidV. The Moss is inside the plastic, so i suspect it lacks of something. Maybe phosphorous or iron?? Or wadever. Or is it ok??

Lighting: 3.5 watt per gal. 6 hours of light at midnight till 6am.

Temperature: 28 Celcius during day. 26 at midnight(Air-cond)

No Co2, No fertilizer. Tank running for 3days.

aiyo bro! get some wood or rocks and tie la.. dont hantam one rock ontop of it.. lol.. u do dat, it wont grow nicely at all..and ull kill the bottom part of the moss, when that dies off and rots away, ull see ur moss floating lah! dont worry. moss super hardy lah.. get a nice wood / rock tie the moss to it. tie neatly ull see the moss grow neatly as well!

no fert no co2 mosses will stil grow. slow, but surely grow. dont worry.

why did u buy emersed form? if ur tank not stable, when the plant turn brown at first to acclimatise, i takut it wont recover if your tank isnt stable enough.

get all in one fertilizer would be enuff if u dont plan on getting co2 bro!

Lol, coz i see at 88mart got drawf and its cheaper at M.V then i buy lo. Then after planting,then only i realize, why some of the grass brown di(after 1day). Hmmm, if my grass 'really cant' make it, then i will just get some at M.V(immersed). The fertilizer, is there any alternative other than sea chem flourish excel?? Maybe some budget dry fertilizer that does not contain copper that can be bought at home depot???

Btw, if i put moss inside the substrate is it ok?? lol coz lazy tie it up. This is my 1st planted tank btw, so sifu's here tunjuk ajar sikit. TQ TQ

moss doesnt have roots and it doesnt grow out from the soil.. mosses grow on rocks or wood and not in the soil.. like i said, u tanam in soil, after few weeks the moss in the soil dies and rots and the moss will float around lol.

if u like it likedat under the rock then leave it lor.. but u wont get moss growth like u see in the pictures or display tanks lah.. u can tie it to that white rock also..

google for tying moss. see d picturess how they tie mosses

and hor, is there any budget ferts ??Other than putting a few fishes so their poop will be fert.

fish poo doesnt really turn into fert.

rm20 - rm30 get a all-in-one liquid fertilizer. about one capful per week can last u months.

without co2 i dunno ur hairgrass will survive ornot..
