QUOTE(tuonn @ Oct 11 2010, 01:26 PM) Erm... If thats the case, we waste money on the 6000 series which it can only run at 57xx series performance. >.<Don't think it can crossfire it like this. QUOTE(nightshade_nova @ Oct 12 2010, 05:08 AM) lol at new branding... Actually now there is glasses 3D screen that you can even play with wearing glasses. This is really helpful cause I'm sure when I'm wearing the glasses, the vision is still kinda blur compare you are playing without it. Without glasses tech will be much clearer and less dizziness affected to people. Dizziness is due to unclear screen and unable to differentiate the direction that causing confusion, make people dizzy.later will get people asking "is it worth upgrading from 5770 to 6770?" for 3d glasses, it gets awhile to get used to... many people tried and disliked it cos dizzy, and never give it a chance most people will adapt to it, and wont get dizzy after use it many times but I still think 3d glasses strains the eyes more than normal gaming regardless fyi, only small portion of people becomes dizzy even after got used at using it Next week should be the launch of 6000 series. Everyone is really looking forward to the mid range product whether AMD can beat the only survivor nvidia 460 or not. If it is, AMD will cotinue dominate the market until nvidia releases new series. For your info regarding 6870. QUOTE Some 20+ percent Sources: http://fudzilla.com/graphics/item/20456-ra...er-than-gtx-460The latest that we have gathered about AMD's controversial new graphics cores, codenamed Barts (not Simpson ed.) claim that Radeon HD 6870 should easily be faster than a Geforce GTX 460 1GB. This also implies that this card should be priced slightly higher than a Geforce GTX 460 1GB, so we expect that Radeon HD 6870 should cost around €250 / $250 USD if not a few bucks cheaper. We are hearing that the performance gain on average with the new Barts XT part is around 20 to 25 percent but on the same time, we hear that Radeon HD 6870 won't be that much faster than the current 5870. The good part is that despite the controversies Cayman XT and PRO cards should ship in about a month's time, being significantly faster than Cypress based Radeon HD 5870 series available today. The official launch should take place next week. |

I'm sure all those 5850 and 5870 users mostly are not interested in the 6870 and 6850, instead they are much looking forward to the 6900 series

QUOTE(8tvt @ Oct 15 2010, 09:00 AM) AMD claimed it is wider than 5800 series. But I keep looking back and forth, looks the same to me haha. You cant expect reference card full load temperature will be much nicer as the 3rd party or non reference one. Usually it will be loud as jet engine when full 100% fan |

QUOTE(Private.G @ Oct 18 2010, 12:18 PM) I just changed my Asus 5870 First Reference Card to Artic Cooling Extreme Tri Fans, performance is really superb. Let me list down the benefit after install it.1) Quiet, I set my fan 50% and you cant even hear a thing. Increase fan speed to 100% and there is not much noise compare with 50% fans speed in reference card. 2) Temperature wise, at 50% fan speed I got idle at 45C, and in air con 24c environment it can reach 36C (roughly, have to check again for confirmation, but definitely is 30++C), 100% fan speed (without air con) is 40C. Price is around RM200+ for the cooler. A good performance cooler for such a monster graphic card. I haven't checked on the full load cause usually idle won't make a lot of diff when compare with every cooler. And I just reformat my OS, not yet install 3dMark. >< This post has been edited by Jet23sky: Oct 18 2010, 04:05 PM |

QUOTE(AMDAthlon @ Oct 19 2010, 08:05 AM) Not only that but even HD 69XX have higher TDP and die sizes compared to previous generation.. High TDP means nvidia will be able to produce 500 series without caring TDP already since AMD is now offering almost the same TDP as nvidia. ( Possible ) I wonder how it will turns out.. I guess the price should be around RM1.1k for 6950, and RM1.5k for 6970. Oh ya 6970 might exceed RM2k which is not surprised for me. I guess by moving from 5000 series to 6000 series, it seems like it is not worth due to high TDP as well. Nvidia has always had the problem with TDP, temperature and power usage issue. Let see what Nvidia will offer when they released 500 series on December. This post has been edited by Jet23sky: Oct 19 2010, 10:11 AM |

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « It's not so long to me. I think the 6900 series should have same length as 5800 series card. cause if they really make it longer, only few casing can support it haha. This post has been edited by Jet23sky: Oct 19 2010, 12:45 PM |

QUOTE(yongkailoon @ Oct 22 2010, 01:54 PM) Actually it can last u until 7000 series release. or u crossfire it to counter 7000. But anyhow, 7000 series will be the greatest breakthrough in the graphic history |

QUOTE(TiF @ Oct 22 2010, 02:02 PM) Already CF. And yeah, my plan is to skip 1 or 2 gen before buying new gc.. Or maybe until the day 5 out of 10 games that I played don't let me max out all setting at 1920x1080... You can even see there are some 4890 users still remain whole their wallet and wait for 7000 series arrive |
