QUOTE(Jet23sky @ Aug 14 2010, 11:03 PM) Does it mean the HD5000 can crossfire with HD6000 series since both of them are using the same 40nm? If it is true then I can wait the 6000 series to crossfire my 5870. LOL. True and YEA. But, I think that it's worthless to that either because the new's can be very expensive. And sometime, their performance also not far from the older GPUs.

For a Radeon HD5870, Stock Voltage can OC until 934-935MHz for the Core and 1278-1280MHz for Memory.
Increase Voltage can do higher OCing. That's only true for the Core MHz, while the Memory MHz is hard to increase even if you have very high voltage.

QUOTE(ronaldlee007 @ Aug 18 2010, 02:20 PM) V10.7 still stay at higher idle clock when u oc'ed the card. But it will stay at lower idle when it is not oc'ed. I read a lot that the higher idle clock is not bug but to solve the flicker issue. It's used to solve the flickering issues on multiple display setups. But, why it must affect the OCing. =.=! Pure stupid by ATi Team I would say. Their Driver Team should be fired in no time.

Nvidia did release a Driver that burnt damn a lot of Nvidia GPUs months ago, especially in the US. ATi Driver Team and Nvidia Driver Team should be fired. They're lousy and lame.

Time for you to add another Radeon HD5870, huzzLEE_82.
Some Radeon HD5870 have decent build which allow user to have 900/1300 straightly without tweaking voltage and using the CCC itself.
However, my Radeon HD5870 only can get 900/1275 without voltage tweaks and using the CCC. With MSI Afterburner, I was able to get 935/1278 with default voltage. With some voltage tweaks(a little), I was able to get 950/1280 or more.

The actual for CLEAN UNINSTALLATION/INSTAL CCC for me(at least):
Uninstall CCC. Restart into Safe Mode. Run Driver Sweeper and CCleaner to clear out all registry errors. Restart into Normal Mode. Install New Driver. Restart again.

LOL. TwL said that the CCC 10.8 sucks big time. I guess currently, the TwL Modded v3.95(CCC 10.7a or CCC 10.8Beta5) is the BEST.
But, CCC 10.8 is good for those who're using CrossFireX. Because it improves the CrossFireX Scaling.

QUOTE(JoBigShow @ Aug 29 2010, 04:19 AM) And don't forget the Star Craft 2 fanatics The 10.8 fumbles in a way that it shows the driver development team is going down is their work quality... Hope this downfall is just temporary... I hope they create a CCC 10.8 Hotfix after this. So, we can have even better performance and even better stability.

AMD all the way is better. So, people won't confuse and the public will know that AMD already bought over ATi. But, I don't know why the AMD/ATi Graphics Logos do not look nice. Can they hire better designer? =.=?

Wait a second, TwL claimed that the latest Modded Driver v3.99 is buggy. I think we should wait until he fixed the bugs 1st, then, only download.

You seduced me. LOL. But, I'll wait a while 1st. I still need a stabler driver because I am doing some workstation stuffs. I don't want it to crash. Currently, I am using CCC 10.8 WHQL only. Might change to TwL Modded Driver sooner or later when the bugs fixed.

QUOTE(faiz2036 @ Sep 2 2010, 05:58 AM) QUOTE(TwL;3691040) I am still testing the cause of issue as this does not affect all systems and I believe the core problem to be in Microsoft updates not in the actual driver even. I can force overwrite driver in Device manager and v3.95 forced with out reboots works flawless while doing same under v3.99 crashes pretty near first screen there is on Dragon Age for example. TwL new driver have a conflict with new Microsoft update.. That's why this modded driver is not stable for everyone. I hope TwL will fix it soon. I want to see it boosts the DirectX 11 performance.

QUOTE(Eugene91 @ Sep 4 2010, 11:18 AM) I noticed most factory OC 5770's come with 1.2V as default.. funny my EAH5770 CUCore came with stock clocks 850/1200 and 1.2V lol.. ASUS EAH5770 CuCore is actually used to replace the Stock Radeon HD5770(ASUS EAH5770) technically. The only difference is that the CuCore used different PCB and different HSF. So, it has better cooling(can do gayer OCing). The rest, same.

QUOTE(rsangel @ Sep 4 2010, 04:23 PM) any user using 5870 to play Dirt2? i'm playing on 1920x1080, 8xaa, vsyn on, the screen tearing gone, but seems the fps drop dramatically, izzit normal? Yes, turning V-Syn ON means to set the FPS match your LCD's Hz. The FPS will drop due to that but it shouldn't be LAG at all. Don't use 8x AA, I think 8x AA is making the game lag only. 2-4x AA is more than enough on 1920x1080 resolution. You won't notice the difference at all and you don't need to stress the GPU.

QUOTE(angrysnail @ Sep 5 2010, 11:28 AM) HEHE..i know that cheaper..rm1600 to get SLI.. BUT..mine mobo only support CFX..if change mobo also need money, what AMD mobo support SLI and high-end?..i can't find it so far..CIVEX,that coz a bomb(must be xpensive than formula and still not out yet).. and i saw the benchmark about it HERE and the result not all the time GTX 460 SLI tapau HD5970,it depends on game and resolution but i impressed with the DX11 tensellation on GTX460.. in my situation here,i'm not gonna spend more money to change mobo and don't want to drag my 2010 rig project to the 2011..i got new vision on 2011.. future is fusion.. Those are benchmarking only. 1x Radeon HD5970 still win 2x GeForce GTX460 SLi in most "real" games(like 96%-99%) and even DirectX 11 games too.

QUOTE(rcwh2000 @ Sep 5 2010, 08:21 PM) i agreed.... coz i'm using GTX 460 in SLI mode now.... is very troublesome... due to still have a lot of games can't support SLI or cross fire.... after i upgrade i only know the pro and cons... now i plan to switch to HD 5870 or 5970 later.... just that AMD Redeon don have physX and CUDA for 3D application only... for gaming is better then nVidia... Nope. Most 3D Applications uses OpenGL. It means it can utilize Nvidia CUDA and ATi/AMD Stream(something same as CUDA but it's from AMD/ATi).
