QUOTE(billytong @ Oct 21 2010, 05:36 PM) QUOTE(Jet23sky @ Oct 21 2010, 05:42 PM) Haha, i think dual 5870 should be able to beat 6970. Just my two cents, I so hope to get 6970, but the price should be sky rocket. Can't afford to buy it anymore, Waiting for 7000 series 28nm .. hehehe in term of performance CF 5series should be better..but i donno u guys want to play what with that setup.. since the reso also already enough for average monitors.. if ready for the next future games.. by the time.. the new gpus coming and continuously single gpu setup is enough.. invest so much without fully utilize it.. unless alot of games really need that processing power.. |

i always respect this..
Measured power consumption - 6850 1. Advertised TDP = 150W 2. System in IDLE = 173W 3. System Wattage with GPU in FULL Stress = 295W 4. Difference (GPU load) = 122 W 5. Add average IDLE wattage ~ 19W 6. Subjective measured GPU power consumption = ~ 141 Watts Measured power consumption - 6870 1. Advertised TDP = 127W 2. System in IDLE = 176W 3. System Wattage with GPU in FULL Stress = 278W 4. Difference (GPU load) = 102 W 5. Add average IDLE wattage ~ 19W 6. Subjective obtained GPU power consumption = ~ 121 Watts 6870 is lower.. that's weird.. |

QUOTE(chenhui87 @ Oct 22 2010, 11:47 AM) i think typo.. the above should 6870..and again about this.. Here is Guru3D's power supply recommendation: * Radeon HD 6850 - On your average system the card requires you to have a 450 Watt power supply unit. * Radeon HD 6870 - On your average system the card requires you to have a 500 Watt power supply unit. duh i had have enough heard that since using 3870.. |

most ppl only focus on performance.. less in power efficiency and let aside for the movie related, transcoding etc.. should look it in the whole package..
gpu now not only for gaming.. Added on October 22, 2010, 2:22 pmok that's the bright side.. must admit.. HD3D not that promising and maybe lack of physx features.. for 3d gaming/movie etc require us another gadget (eg:3d glasses, 3d monitors).. which cost more.. at last less ppl care.. physx - well how often need those.. i'm not dying if not see flying debris and residue.. there are alot more things to enjoy..
