want to ask.. how to cut an acrylic straight? can use dremel? or where can usually send to cut it? glass store?

thats what i ask.. where is the shop that can cut this thing? i dont think there is a shop specially open for doing on acrylic in jb sweat.gif

For cutting a straight line on acrylic, use a blade and run it over the line you wanna cut a few times. Then bend it backwards, if you scour it sufficiently it should snap cleanly into two.

For circles u might need a hole saw, dremel can be messy since it melts the plastic

i found something usefull here. but dont know where to find that bit here. well, i bought a dremel w/o that bit. where to find such a bit in malaysia?

jigsaw with blades for cutting metal also can do the job. rotary tool like dremel defnitely not suitable, it'll melt it..

or a proper acrylic cutting tool for diy.

i read somewhere, to use rotary, need to use the slowest speed, but the cut wont be good unless u r highly skilled. but can be solve by sanding it later.
