Hi my name is Gary and I am a resident of C. Suites. Our condo has recently been swamped with students. Some colleges are putting 16 and more students/unit (1254sq ft, 3 bedrooms). These students've created lots of public nuisance, loitering, littering, damages, and etc. How do we stop the colleges fr. abusing the condo by putting so many /unit? We have told the management to stop the kind of madness but the management told us it's the problem of those owners who rented these units to students and they can't do anything about it. And the residents don't have control over the number of tenants in the tenancy agreements signed by some of these owners.

Your help and advise would me much appreciated by many residents of C. suites. Thx.

I know it is good money to rent out properties to students, the rich ones especially. But above scenario is really quite disturbing.
Cramming 15 persons into one tiny apartment?
also the thread starter did not mention whether the students are local or foreign. (99% sure they are foreigners, africans or middle eastern students)

please discuss, will you, or will you not rent out your properties to colleges or students? hmm.gif

Moral of the story,

If planning to invest and rent out to students, better buy near uni or college.. Cyberia, Subang, Bukit Jalil etc etc.. Student market is one of the most economy resilient target market.. unlike expat market which can turn bad during economy crisis..

If planning to buy for own stay, dun buy near student population... Bangsar, MK, Taman Desa

sometimes working adults can behave that way too....and you may face more complicated problems....no right or wrong answer, it is very much dependent on the rules you set, the personalities of the people who are renting your place....and so forth

having said that, my first choice is of cos working adults

i truly agree; if you plan to live in your apartment, buy a place - which is tenanted by owners rather than rentees

Agreed.

I don't know if it's normal here but in Melbourne, it's normal to charge students a higher bond than say a working professional because more risk of damages to the property. Used to pay about AUD$6000 bond collectively for a 3BR apartment in the middle of the city with my 2 other friends.
