QUOTE(Mikeshashimi @ Jul 11 2010, 12:22 AM) thats the way! dont get influenced by what people say, see what fits u best. after all, the photographer is more important than the gear. couldn't agree more. i've seen people with expensive gears but their output is amateurish at best. i'm not a good photographer and upload pictures to facebook only. so NEX-3 is more than sufficient for me. QUOTE(albnok @ Jul 13 2010, 03:25 PM) More details about video and audio here: i have a sample video taken at an open air gig last sunday using NEX-3http://www.photoclubalpha.com/forum/viewto...php?f=49&t=4258 While I would not agree on perfect distortion-free sound (the videos I shot at gigs do have some distortion, but it could be Laundry Bar's sound system) I would say Sony is very capable of recording audio with large dynamics. No Black Tie is such a place - the volume can go really loud with some singers without the sound breaking, but you know your mobile phones will have audio peaking and clipping. However even my Sony Cybershot WX-1 can handle it, with excellent audio quality and 720p! THe volume can get uncomfortably loud and still be distortion-free. I want to hear what a proper audiophile or bootlegger has to say about this, though. signither: Can buy cheap SD cards too LOL. Though it won't be best for video! Gouki: I have not done any formal tests but well, both are alright by me. I just strongly prefer the 24mm end. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ioDFxgJtGuM This post has been edited by faizalmzain: Jul 13 2010, 03:31 PM |

QUOTE(shootkk @ Jul 16 2010, 09:14 AM) I don't understand all this NEX poisoning. I mean what do you want the NEX for? NEX series is a perfect target for people like me who wants DSLR quality pics + HD video with stereo sound and doesn't want the camera as big and heavy as normal DSLR. i used to own nikon d40 then i sold it and bought lumix tz7 because i ended up left my d40 at home most of the time. The NEX series of camera is great if you want it for a small sized cam that you can bring around easily but that applies only with the pancake lens. Any other lens makes it bulky. If it's bulky, then I rather take my DSLR. If you're talking about video, then the NEX video cam offers a more practical solution. it's too heavy to carry around my bag or neck. basically NEX is my dream camera with affordable price, prior to NEX i've always eyeing M43 cameras but their price is beyond my budget. QUOTE(ianho @ Jul 16 2010, 02:32 PM) When u get a scratch on the lens then u will know what is degraded IQ. which type of filter from sony?Problem is can't find them in 49mm size so the best for NEX now is the Zeiss filter from Sony. Costs a fair bit at rm160 for the lil fella though. I saw 2 types at sony style but it's very expensive for my pocket RM260-300 (i don't remember exact price) |

QUOTE(Deerc @ Jul 16 2010, 03:15 PM) is there such a big diff even thou i'm on kit lens and not those expensive lens? never really invested on filters, just to protect the glass... yes if use kit lens no need to use expensive filter i think since very good filters almost the same price as the lens itself |

i test shooting video for concert just now (using NEX)
apparently the mic has a tendency to pecah/muffled if stay too close to the speakers i.e. standing in front of the stage, especially for bassy sound. if not bassy still ok. have to stay back a little then the sound seems ok. This post has been edited by faizalmzain: Jul 17 2010, 02:00 AM |

QUOTE(ianho @ Jul 17 2010, 02:13 AM) Standing in front of the speakers sure teruk la. Dont talk about the camera mic. U r damaging ur own ears! Dont stand so near the speakers la. not really in front of the speakers but in front of the stage which is of course nearer to the speakers. (i'm talking about open air stage setup)This post has been edited by faizalmzain: Jul 17 2010, 10:33 AM |
