iamKiet: Ah Hao's ISO6400 shot is the perfect shot to showcase this - it does not have any bright highlights, as those will cause any Alpha to underexpose and then pull up the shadows, causing more noise.

You'll generally see less noise for the same ISO, for low-contrast shots e.g. a brown wall as opposed to bright lights and a road.

wingster: The Seagull SC-5 has a ISO hotshoe and PC Sync port. However the A700, A850 and A900 already have PC Sync ports.

Veron83: DRO is good for high-contrast situations.

prazole: Nice capture!

mastering89: Yup - the chip cjlai installed tells the camera that my Samyang is a 50mm!

I like what you've done with the A900 + Zeiss 135mm picture.

shootkk: Indeed - the iISO hotshoe on the NEX-VG10 is a major plus. Though, sadly, it does not save pictures in RAW format.

Also, a very ideal focal length for portraiture video is the 50mm - the 85mm is a bit too long unless you're talking about a full-body shot from far away. If you want to record conversations, confessions etc. the 50mm is perfect, and the un-intimidating size of the NEX-3/5 makes it better. The NEX-VG10 would be a bit too big for the 50mm!

Longer focal lengths are a bit too hard to pan or track with (not so much the focusing, but tracking...)

The LA-EA1 lens adapter and 50mm fit in my pocket; I can also pocket the NEX-3/5 with 16mm in another pocket!

signither: LOL got proof, you can claim a meatball back from dingenius3!

Just realized your Nikkor 135mm F2.8 AiS was a bit hard to use because of the long focus throw and tight ring - it would slow down refocusing in video and add shakiness! Of course for concerts it would be perfect.

lwliam: Nice candid with eye contact!

yuhi: Nicely done on the less-contrasty parts - but the glass box nearest to you doesn't take to the effect well.

Mikeshashimi: It is very easy to test for flare with a cheap filter. Point at a lamp and put it off-center. See if the light bleeds onto the darker areas of the image.

William, Albert n Ahmike, last night was telling u guys about weather sealing n all n I mentioned the terrible conditions I work in n why Sony should include full weather sealing in the G n CZ lenses. My 3G connection so bad last night couldn't show u the pic. Here it is.

I can hardly breathe in there. Have to time everything perfectly. Take a deep breath just before the rally car passes by n start panning for the pics. Then continue holding breath for about another 30-60 seconds when I'm stuck in this dust storm. laugh.gif That girl in the pic is desperately covering her Nikon in a towel coz she told me if she doesn't do that, the whole camera gets clogged up with dust n it even gets inside the lens. sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif

I'm using Canon 1D, 5D and all L lenses which are fully weather sealed. Made like that by the factory.
