Hmm... i played AioN fine and im only getting 732 score from the benchmark xD

SE never fails to go beyond the unreachable in term of graphics.

Anyway, would like some recommendation on improving the performance

CODE

Intel Core 2 Duo 2GHz or AMD Athlon X2 2GHz, (Currently using Dual core, wonder if i need to upgrade this)
2GB of RAM (Currently 2GB ... might add 4GB, im sure it helps but to what extend)
NVIDIA GeForce 9600 512MB or ATI Radeon HD 2900 512MB and (currently using 9500, doubt i wanna change this)

never bothered to do overclocking cause most games were running fine. While running the benchmark, it was lagging but loading fine. Would appreciate any helps i can get on this, thanks in advance.

Compare to other game out there ...

-The game has more depth
-NO leveling exp apparently so nobody will scream about the leveling curve
-All about completing quests as an individual or as a group
-takes forever to kill a mob despite their recent boost from alpha to beta. I know its alot faster now but it still consumes alot of time just to kill one, not to mention that those mobs sometimes run away for god knows why and you have to chase all the way from top of the mountain to the bottom.
-You can aim and break physical parts of the monsters (not every monsters though)
-Weapons/armors? will break (durability count) so you have to anyhow do the gathering and everything and they consume alot of time as well
-travel distance is very very far, i heard you get to ride chocobo and teleport in latter stage but you can start to train sleep walking earlier just in case. Environment is pretty though if you are eco friendly person.
-Regeneration is veeeeeeeeeery slowwww, only when you wield weapon. Off battle mode, its still not very fast but acceptable i guess.
-Some (*quest?)mobs somehow only appear for you, to avoid killstealing i guess.
-Skills have no awesome animation, which is good and bad at the same time. It makes the action space longer than it should be, considering its fast animation but lacks continuity as it's turn based battle system. In short, you might fall asleep due to the slow battle tempo.

Major playing point is the potential group play experience.
Major let down is how much a time sink the game can be. You wouldnt even notice if you accepted a quest to kill 4 of a kinds of mobs and another 4 of a different kind of mobs and it took you almost 45mins - 1 hour to complete.

Obviously, i need a huge upgrade to play this game when it is released. sad.gif

Anyone in the beta can tell me whether they support low resolution; say, 1024 x 768 or not? If they do, can you print screen and paste the screenshot here? Would be a deciding factor whether to buy a new monitor or not cause the GPU and CPU upgrade cost me a huge load of money already xD ...

thanks in advance.

If payment so mafan for US, then what if i apply American Express card

kekeke....
*
you still need the secure code @@.

Anyway, the secure code is those numbers behind the credit card. Why mafan xD? just type in only eh .

--------------

It seems like you cant jump in the game? i got that habit of jumping every now and then which i might miss when playing FF later on sad.gif. Not like its any important though xD.

Or we are actually supposed to register as an EU + PAL user?

Well, my friend says the EU thingy does not require secure code in FFXI. Only the NA region need, so if we buy EU box we can avoid those extra hassle. We'll also need to register SE account as EU. Well that's what he said.

And he says something about playonline. I don't know what's that biggrin.gif~

Nothing concrete until some official info is released.

most stores only order NA version so, we'll need to order online for EU. But that also means we won't get the box early as well xD which put the 7 days earlier to play option in CE to waste.

I am sure there's alot. Most flogging in other forums/existing clan sites.

Sole reason for people to play this game is because it is branded Final fantasy.

non PvP oriented makes it less appealing to those who loves pvp.

+ very little exposure has been done by the SE teams. Not many know about the game sad.gif. It's up to the fans to spread the fever.

ya i'm reading sli 460... it's alot cooler and lesser power consumption.
It's more targeted for 1920x1200. If powering more then that resolution then 480 still triump over it. But definitely i do not want 480..... expensive and hot..

@azwart i'm waiting for asus 460gtx 1gb gddr5. I think have not released yet.

26 July. Waiting for it as well before i order my new rigs.

hey guys , im pretending to build a rig , so far i got this from lowyat forum

Item(s):i7 860 + P55A-UD4P + Cosair Dominator 1600 CL8

Package includes: retail package

Price: rm1950 (only for bundle)

for GPU im thinking of getting the GTX460 like u guys proposing.  that will cost around 800 below from price checking in lowyat forum.

i think enough for ffxiv  ?   but at high setting donno can or not ......

any feedback is appreciated.
*
whats your budget?

Anyway, why get i7 860 when you can get i7 920 at almost the same price =3. Plus, 920 allows multi GPU incase you need it next time around. If its the GHz you are worry about, you can always OC the 920 one.

Well that also depends if your motherboard can support or not.

if you guys can wait, the price sure goes down. Plus, some shop are decent enuff not to eat their customer alive. RM399 is a suckup price...

Unit price = RM 259. Even with shipping fee shops mostly get them at RM279. and thats only for one unit. worst come to worst they wanna earn extra also make it 299 but 399? thats overkill eh.

FF XI made a fun place to be even there is no PvP there, is still exciting.

i know, we've made our research. we are interested but some are still unsure. It's just that the playing atmosphere with someone you know in RL is very different than playing with those who you only heard of their voice through vent, if you know what i mean. ;p

Dear valued Maybankard Cardmember,

For your online shopping safety, we are enhancing the security features on your Maybankard credit card. This enhancement requires you as a cardholder, to enrol your Maybankard Visa and Mastercard Credit Card for Maybankard Secure Online Shopping (MSOS).

If you attempt to make a purchase at a participating 3D Merchant*, without activating the Maybankard Secure Online Shopping feature, you will be prompted to enrol in order to continue with your purchase. These changes will affect card members who make purchases via the internet starting July 1, 2009.

The security of your purchases on Maybankard Visa and Mastercard is our top priority. With MSOS, you're protected from any liability or loss arising from fraudulent online transactions.

Even if you do not shop online, we encourage you to enrol your cards to MSOS. By enrolling, you'll have an extra level of protection against unauthorised online purchases, just in case your card number is compromised when an unauthorised person gets hold of your card and goes shopping online at participating merchant stores.

Kindly be informed that you can only choose to register for your MSOS via Maybank2u.com

Anyway, it's easy to apply for the secure code.

""""IF"""" not wrong, new credit cards (applied after July 2009) already have that secure code. I said "IF" only ah, dont shoot me if I'm wrong.

As for the region thingy, it has already been told countless of times.
