Gamers are as passionate about their gaming consoles as auto buyers are about their cars, according to a survey from Ipsos Loyalty.
Gaming consoles and cars received the highest scores on the Ipsos Loyalty Satisfaction Index, 8.31 and 8.30, respectively. But consumers were relatively unsatisfied with their mobile telephone providers (7.51) and software operating systems (7.51).
Across the industries studied, businesses that rely on face-to-face service tended to outperform technology-driven sectors. For example, banks came in third (8.09) in the study.
"Americans viewed their banks favorably," said Tim Keiningham, global chief strategy officer at Ipsos Loyalty. "The good news for banks is that despite the recent financial crisis, Americans tend to hold positive feelings about the place where they bank. Clearly, Americans distinguish between the bailout and the local branch of their bank."

Its common knowledge that the game industry is filled with fanboys from consoles to specific games. Its even spread as far as companies jumping on certain bandwagons and helping spread the flame. However, is it as bad as people loving car makers like Chevy? TV Shows? Movies? The answer is yes, it tops them all.
According to a recent study by Ispos Loyalty gamers and auto buyers were the top two "fanboys" out there. Getting an 8.31 and 8.30 respectfully. The next closest group was 30 points away listed as banks. 50 percent of the group all acknowledged that most companies dont do enough to promote brand loyalty due to so many choices being on the market. So its quite a suprising factor to see gamers being number one, then again what I see on a daily basis denys that.
How does this compare to other tech gadgets? Well phone makers were not very favorable, getting a mere 7.51. This could possibly be due to the millions of Iphone users stuck with AT&T though, so it most likely isn't a fair count. People favoring their current OS stands tied with phone makers currently. Handheld devices have a decent number at 7.88, with Website Search Engines standing at 8.0.
There were some other interesting loyalty fans in the study, such as favorite soft drink jumping up from previous years.

will this figure be suitable with Malaysian?
MY opinion from my naked eyes, Malaysian more fanboy with cars and politics...
