I have one at home, mum drives it. I think she gets about 300-350 per Rm50. She drives below 80...so it depends on your driving style too

I have one, manual. from Bkt Bintang to Subang every day. i can get RM0.12/km or around 15km/l. it depends how u drive it. But bear in mind i always drive fast lane, if not congested i'll drive around 80-100km/h.

I had one. Also 1.6A - 2003 year.
Honestly, before i bought mine, i was concerned like u too but i did not regret when i get it.
FC is similar to Proton WAJA. U cannot expect it to have lower FC when its whole body were so spacious and solid. If u look at its size, i would say it worth.
BTW, a RM60 can get me going more than 400km but u have to drive in constant speeds.
Also, my personal experience. When in hiway, its FC are even lower than Proton Wira 1.5 or Satria 1.3.

Quite high but still acceptable compared to Proton Waja Full tank around RM77 - RM80. Will get me about 400km - 430km or RM0.18/km - RM0.20/km Travel around Skudai area and JB. If 100% highway can get 530km full tank.

this car is known for it's high FC. Not really that bad but not that great either. Especially the 1.6 auto. If you are mostly doing city driving and concern about FC then this car doesn't suit you.
If you are mostly doing highways then this car is fine. The good point about this car it the spacious interior. It was designed by some famous car designer.

guys stop hitting on TS. Clearly she means fuel or petrol or gasoline.
She just made a mistake (intentional or not) in the choice of word. We all know what she means. So just back off. Okay?
TS...please post more carefully next time.

fuel consumption would depend very much with your driving style.
but to the Hyundai Matrix benefit....I like its ride. vague steering feel but hell of a lot of grip for the comfort. drove the 1.6 and 1.8 versions.......my money would be on the 1.8.
the car has a high hip point per entry (means easy to get in and out of front seats). dun dream about the boot (very the small). other then that no real complaints.
the suspension I heard is tuned by Porsche.

Hi TS, have you bought ur matrix? I just bought a secondhand matrix 05 not long ago. I pump RM50 for RON'97 and it takes me more than 300km (city-60%, highway-40%) no regret owning a matrix.

But as your car coming to 6th year, you will need to prepare for repair and change part. Hyundai part is very expensive! I have a 1.8 since 2003, timing belt changed 3x, water tank twice, absorber 2x. And overhaul the engine last year. Now gearbox gave way, need 3 k to repair.
