well u can buy the WoW: battle chest to give it a try...
there's tonnes of contents for u to explore...
even when cata comes out, u still need to go through the same content as a new player

can't just buy lichking exp.? it tak include base game?
oh btw, how much monthly fee?

u need all 3 (ori WoW, crusade, lich king) CDkeys to play. they will set u back around rm250 if cdkey only and dl the installer urself.

montly fee is about rm45 (rm90 for 2 months), but u prolly won't want to play WoW without a tunneling service (unless u play at midnight or afternoon... or can stand the 300~2000~10000 random jitter) which will cost additionally about rm20-30 per month.

calculate how much you usually spend in 1 month when you go out with friends(clubbing/mamak/dinner), thats the amount of money you save, because you won't have a social life once you start wow.

If you are looking for a MMO to start, wow is really the best. It is my first mmo and it has kept me interested so much that I never tried another one. Played for about 2 years already

no point wat..now everything is super damn easy...click 1,2,3 then u are pro already..haha

a lot of skills you use from 1-79 are useless at 80.

for instance, Shaman ENH tanking at lower levels. I levelled my Shaman 1-70 ENH then respec to Ele/Resto. Druid I level from 1-80 Cat then respec to tree/chicken because Cat is hard to compete with rogue. Even had to relearn hunter to stop relying on pet for damage.

In fact, it's a well known fact that a fresh 80 learns all their raiding skills from the first 5 or so Heroic runs with a guild.

if u look at wws, u can find cats outdpsing rogues...
jz that cats are really hard play...

well starting from lvl 1 is not really the skills...
more to the mechanics etc...
learning ur skills, learning how to talent, learning not to keyboard turn, kiting, running away when needed etc...
what about profession? lore etc...
those are the things that make wow fun...
wow is not only about raids (and raids to get boring after a while)...

Whether cats can out dps rogues really depends on the fights. I have both a rogue and a druid. I still find the rogue more useful. Cats are fun to play but their dps is very situational and very affected by how the tanks tank the boss. Rogues are also harder to kill, they have more tricks up their sleeve. For example, if you miss a spore on Festergut and he starts to cast his AoE, rogues can cast feint to reduce the damage done to them by 50%. In other words, even if they miss a spore, they will not die. Still got cloak of shadows, vanish.. so much tricks to play.

Ya better don't start it. I stopped once and bought PS3 as replacement (my friends got a lot of games can pinjam). Guess what I start to play WOW again for months and some of the PS3 games I borrowed, not even started.

Haha it really depends on how you want to live. I entered wow with a group of about 7 friends. We meet up for supper every week or go to the movies so there is a social life there. Our group expended from 7 to almost 12 people now, 3 of us have girlfriends that play wow. So it is actually quite a big group there that actually hangs out together when we go out.

To me, you can play as much as you like or control how much time you spend in there. My group takes wow quite seriously, most of us have more then 3 characters and they are not weak either, all my characters have seen the death of the lich king. BUT I can assure you I don't spend more then 3 hours per day playing, I don't play everyday either.. maybe 4 days per week after work?.. not much of a commitment there is it?

if you're a gamer...this is the best game to play. it is so effective, you will find yourself no longer waiting for release dates or searching for news on upcoming games or beta etc. but moderation is key..

if you say something like oh I play Dragon Age Origins, it is an amazing game but I hardly addicted it is easy peasy...I can control.... WoW is in a different league. don't say we don't warn you. i can assure that at least one year of your social life will be gone. there is simply no way to control your addiction prior to that, period.

non-chronic WoWers: less time to do everything eg going out with friends, attend to home tasks, work, studies etc

chronic WoWers: NO time to do EVERYTHING, including eat, sleep, and shxt.

quit WoW a year ago,,,had to quit cos my 2 kids starting to call me uncle.

i once addicted with this game, my sleeping time shifted, sleeping in the morning and wake up at night lool.

Kk it gets a bit complicated here. For WoW there are 2 things you need to pay........ aside from your internet connection..

1. Original WoW and Expansions. There are a total of 3 sets now. Original WoW (level cap at 60), The Burning Crusade (level cap at 70) and Wrath of the Lich King (level cap at 80). Buy the Battlechest (this includes Original WoW + The Burning Crusade). Take your time to level till 70 first then buy WOTLK to get to 80. If you have a friend that wants to start with you, all the better, both sign up together and use the recruit a friend bonus to get x3 xp when leveling together.

2. Subscription. It is about $14.99 USD/month. Can pay via credit card or buy prepaid card from vendor. Buy from vendor is 2 months straight, no other choice. Pay from credit card can 1 month, 3 months or 6 months and it gets cheaper the more you take at once.
