Hi,I'm new on using blackberry smartphone and having trouble with automatic credit deduction on my celcom prepaid.I'm using BB bold 9700 with celcom prepaid.my problem is when I don't subscribe celcom prepaid broadband,my credit will be automatically deducted from my account.every now and then it will deduct 70cents and give back 60cents which means that I loss 10cents without me noticing it if I don't check my credit balance.I've called celcom cust service but they advice me to go to a phone shop to instal an app that can prevent this from happening.took their advice but the couldn't find any shop that have the ability to do that.can someone help me on this problem? is there a a way to stop my credit from automatically being deducted? Is there a setting on blackberry that can stop this?

me also experience the same thing like yours. The simple solution is change the plan to BB 250. I donno phone shop have apps to prevent this. I call celcom careline several time and ask them to stop the data charge for any apps that running in background. You can try to delete the service book for wap service.

go to option>advance setting>service book
delete any service book that not use Gateway IP: //206.51.26.92:19513;19512/blackberry.net|GPAK
dont delete the Wi-Fi TCP/IP Transport and MMS Transport

then go to option>advance setting>browser push
untick MDS and WAP push

please give me feedback if it work..

Thanks brahym,
i tried to untick everything that i think was using wap but credit was still deducted
deleted some of the service book but i don't think it worked also coz still credit being deducted
went to celcom center, the guy in celcom said just off data services, but couldn't accept mms
so my solution was, juz get BB100..i do a lot of web browsing on my computer so don't need web browsing on BB
the only problem is that i must always remember to off data services every time i do a quickpull
after the BB is fully booted then only i on back data services
credit will still be deducted if i don't do that..
quite happy with the outcome, the only problem is sometimes it is very2 slow
want to try out DiGi or Maxis but my area is a big Celcom Territory...
couldn't get good Digi or Maxis line here....

Go to options - mobile network - data service - set to off
If u want to use then revert the setting.
Or else don't install any other apss..just use basic apps.safe n save

bro check my topic instead. http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1539359

now if u open the blackberry app world they will deduct credit even you using celcom rm1 daily.
the rm1 are very-very limited usage now. i think better you get the unlimited data plan.
if u turn the service data off what the points using blackberry? no BIS right? hmm.gif

Tumpang thread.

Just wanna ask bout this.

For those who are using crunchSMS, after a week, there will be an advertisement banner that popped at the screen.

So my question is, does this advertisement can caused credit reduction?
Coz my credit somehow going from R10 to Rm6 in just couple of hours.
Other apps that are being used are kisses, lister, quickpull.

I'm using celcom BIS 100 btw.

i might suggest u to check ur credit history.. but i duno if celcom got or not..
i'm using hotlink.. and from my experience, whenever u unlock ur bb, the bb will auto update its apps.. u can see the arrow download and upload on the battery bar top right.. because bb is a phone that is constantly connected to the internet..
so if u dont have an unlimited data bis, like BIS 100 which only support bbm fb and ym, u better have a wifi connection on.. or change to BIS 250 or simply digi bis smile.gif
other cause is probbably like mine, which was connection.. because of the weak connection to 3G or Edge, the phone auto changes to gprs which is charged at different rates.. even if u got BIS 250 on smile.gif this is what happen to me in my house.. so my solution is to only connect to 3G and not 2G in the wireless connection setting. good luck happy.gif

the bb 50 is only for BBM, bb100 for social use(e.g. fb apps, twitter apps, bbm...), so they gona charge ur gf if she use the browser
