Just for the fun of it tongue.gif , is it ok to overclock the card by 0.1-0.2 ghz without cooling system or extra fans?

overclock what? gpu or memory? or both? last time i tried 950mhz on gpu, 1350mhz on memory ok liao.. temp up not very much but performance wise seems similar (from my naked eyes) so revert back to stock clock..

My 5770 GPU. currently it's at 2.67ghz.
Will OC'ing it to 2.80ghz bring any difference?

maybe try using fraps to check the FPS and compare both results ~then u'll know

I think jump to 2.8ghz won't bring much difference to our naked eyes. At least for me smile.gif But if u are interested to try it out, is best to use benchmark to judge, most likely u will get a few fps boost esp on fps games.

I tried last time, but now revert back to stock clock.

GPU or CPU?..Btw,if u like to improve ur oc,just OC it using MSI Afterburner..and test the stability using Kombustor..i got my 5770 at 910@1375, load on game can go up to 69C@metro2033@1080P,can OC further but lazy to play edy..hehe..just wait for my 5870.. biggrin.gif

As long as temps don't go above 75C you should be fine.......If you prefer to do permanent OC then you just flash the GPU BIOS but make sure you have UPS........

And before you flash,test using software then do flashing

make sure ur temperature wont go too over..
if temperature high 100% the fan speed.. XD
