I have not heard of the JSE bulb brand. Most likely is china brand. YET according to what i was told, is a generic china brand.

YET & JSE are china oem products. these are sold very cheap in lighting shops like Top Ten, Avalon, etc. we are also electrical shop, but we normally don't recommend these in our projects. YET have many variants, let me know what is the model, and I can ask whether can reduce further the price. I guess the JSE bulbs they give you are the screw head bulbs, which at those prices, quality is compromised. if you want lasting bulbs, you should use PLC tubes with external ballast. but the total price is much more.

Many people prefer easy fixing without ballast. Too bad even the good E27 bulb won't last long compare to PLC

Dont go for YSE bulb, light illumination not bright if compared to GE, up to this moment, I still preferred GE for all bulbs

I got GE, Osram, Philip. All this are good, I don't see much difference between the 3 brands. I think someone mention hitachi, but have not use it before.

Mind to share here how much does it cost for Hager Timer with installation? My contractor charged me RM250 on that. He said the wiremen charge him RM180 on the Hager Timer alone but I understand it should be around RM100-RM130 only. Am I right? Else, I have to DIY myself then... using Ceiling Mounted Motion Sensor like this.

Ceiling Mounted Motion Sensor

So any idea? Thx first tongue.gif

The timer is about 80+- when i got it in sept. Maybe now is around 90+-.

The installation is free, my wireman do it free for me, maybe already part of lighting cost. I told him I need timer for parking porch, so he prepare 2 set of wiring, one for timer (on the left T5), another for switch (on the right T5)

my experience with the so called branded bulbs is pretty hit and miss... my current house used all hitachi bulbs initially but screw on type... some lasted some time but most didn't really last that long. Eventually changed to the cheaper chinamade/local brands... also felt it lasted about the same. however, the PLC appeared to be better as I changed 2 of my downlights that i switch on every night about 1 year later after the light itself spoilt. With the everynight use, one of the bulb lasted about 3-4 years and still going strong, another one also hit and miss but lasted about 1+ year before I changed another...
