Try the light shop beside Shabu-shabu in Lobak. T8 LED whole set only rm19, 4" 12W rm25, 6" 18W rm29. But this price is I used someone's name, should be the same on the pricing.
*
Last week went to top ten, they have recessed down light led with Thor brand at rm21. I bought non recessed at the same price as well. Looks good and comparable with ledone brand.

So in conclusion, any LED below 6500k should be fine?
*
2700k-5000k is fine.

2700k-3500k are warm white.

For local here and specially Chinese, are not so like about warm white. Prefer daylight. That 1 of the cause that lead them into buying the crazy 6500k bright.

Those 6500k are blue white. Since it have some blue, the color render out is not correct.

Example, the red thing you see under this led light is not the actual red. If you take it out under the sun, the red thing is different color.

The measurement for this color rendering is call CRI.

Interesting...wondering how long can it last...what is the cost of the bulb? Have not decided whether to use an e27 or to use recessed type. e27 will be easier to change and also the technology will be there for a long long time.  Recessed type pattern keep on changing and you will need to buy some spares to keep or else 2 or 3 yrs down the road, you cant get the same look again.
*
the bulb costs around RM25-28 and rated for 15,000 hours. so we will see. for me, if you have the space, then hands down i will choose E27. its more versatile.

yesterday i changed my CFL bulb to E27 LED Scene Switch (9.5w) from Philips. damn... so bright... but had to use adapter cause the previous light was the plug type (g something.

the bulbs come out of the ceiling a bit so not that attractive. but man... nice to have LED. no more wait few moments for the brightness to kick in and also no more flicker~ biggrin.gif maybe later i will change the housing when im rajin enough.

If your downlight is the std downlight casing, no problem for this bulb.

My casing type is those the bulb have to be installed horizontally not vertically due to limited gap between false ceiling and soffit of slab.

Can you modify and bend the socket angle down a bit?

So the round bulb escape the top reflection.

I m not sure how compact is it. But maybe can be done

Well you can pull the cable just along the ceiling if you don't want to hack. Without hacking I will think is very cheap. Maybe RM30 x 8
