HMV HK is always priced at about HK$20-30 more expensive than other retailers in HK. If you want better pricing and certainty that it's original, you can try CD Warehouse or Hong Kong Records. They are local chains and found in major shopping malls. Price should be cheaper than HMV. HMV likes to think they're premium resellers, they sell everything more expensive - magazines, games, gadgets etc. U can also consider the blu-ray store at Prosperity Building in Mongkok (near Ladies' Street pasar malam).
Generally, you're better off buying English titles through amazon.com (that's what I do anyway). Unless there's a sale, I only buy Chinese titles, HK-exclusive steelbooks or more hard to find musicals, operas, concerts etc. from HK retailers. I'm also sceptical about buying blu-rays from unknown retailers.
p/s : are u in HK now?
Bro terra thanks for sharing, Im at KL now. Was in HK a month ago, went to a shop in Mongkok, they are full of BD's! Their AV system also quite elite. Then went to HMV Central, the price on the high side. Actually a few title on my to buy list, Internal Affairs Boxset, IP Man 1 & 2 Boxset & Jacky Cheung Concert. I agree with you, for US titles usually I look forward to Amazon. I'll keep the place u mention in mind.

Btw, anyone got The Ultimate Matrix Boxset? Worthy? Sorry new kiddo on the block..
