just pop in the bluray last night.... and boy... i'm blown away by the extras in it

the extra is like the mini-wikipedia of GoT, detailing the lores, maps, characters, houses, history and important events
and the events before the GoT are narrated skillfully with POV from different houses by Tywin, Robert, Bran & others

i was buried so deep in the extras, before i knew it, it's already 1AM, original plan was to watch ep1 tongue.gif

go get this little piece of gems on Bluray, a must buy for GoT fans rclxm9.gif

Why you guys always like to compare the book with the tv product? Totally different medium lah...

also in the book what you visualize is your own interpretation...everyone visualizes it differently...heck, some of us don't even visualize tongue.gif

so yeah...forget the books for now and just enjoy something great on tally now!!

btw - for a tv production, ep 9 is EPIC! Wayy better than hundreds of medieval-type films out there over the last decade...

Actually, it is nicer to read it while/before enjoying the show. you can maximize the satisfaction watching the series. there is a little hole here and there but the production team of GoT managed to filled it with different angle as well as surprises not only to viewers but book readers.

The best thing if you read while/before watching the series, you can imagined it how the fantasy world/ ideas are being implemented and when the series came out, you will feel so good that you want to watch it again and again.

Of course, there is a certain expectation from the book readers on some point but as far as this series went on; it has been done splendidly especially Season 1. Only few characters have been left out or plot being erased.

that it could bring better discussions among fans of the series and tv viewers.

well...not everyone would like that...

and why the old daario was perfect

the thing that pisses me off, is how usually a tv series of a novel seems to be so watered down, whether it be from

1. story plot trimming (cost cutting. Heck we all know got has deviated from the already awesome script of the original soiaf story. But i think most of us let it slide because it's still okay regardless)

2. actors that don't fit the characters from the story (e.g. the dario replacement. Even if they were forced to find a replacement, couldn't they have choosen better ?  rolleyes.gif )
and now george r.r. martin is saying one of the characters will have some interesting story plot development that he had only just recently came up with the idea for, but that it will not be possible to integrate that characterization into GOT because of events that already took place that made this change impossible to add in.

So while i still enjoy watching GOT, i'll only take SOIAF seriously when it comes to cannon  smile.gif

My impossible wish would be one day they actually made tv series stick to the story cannon rather than water down ..... though i know this will never ever happen  sweat.gif
I'm actually anticipating what they will do regarding Robert Jordan's wheel of time, whether they will go the tv series route like WOT did, or the movie route like LOTR. But then again that entire series is so long .... deserves to be a movie, but  would suck if they trim it so much ....

This dude left GOT because he got the offer to become the new Transporter for the Transport film reboot. The trailer is already out and he's not bad for someone who's filling up Statham's shoes.
