Biggest mistake was they went for length instead of short, impressive set pieces. You have to admit that this episode felt like a drag at times, why was there a need to include scenes where arya sneaks around. I remembered I was yawning a few times throughout this episode

don't forget about the Bronn cocktease seriously waste of time there they could have done away with the whole Bronn Lannister crossbow drama there, no one will miss it

The writing was on the wall, it was hinted many times over the past few seasons that daenerys could go down this path of madness, despite her assuring her closest allies that she's not like her father. The quest for the throne and her ambition costed her her sanity. All you need is one bad day to turn the sanest person alive to a lunatic, and she had to endure many bad days
Though I enjoyed the episode... I can't help but feel how silly the plot was. Danny going mental because of some bells, she could could have easily gotten her victory and stormed the Red Keep. Waddepak... I don't read the books but this episode was so illogical. Cersei was just moping the entire episode.
NK ending was disappointing now this... Oh dear. Next week's series finale better not get your hopes too high.
This season clearly shows how little D&D knows how to move the show forward without the book material.
Major character deaths but they are all so underwhelming.
The ending does not need to be happy, it has to be satisfying.

I thought dany becoming mad was a long time coming already She was willing to do anything to get back the iron throne, executed people who didn't fall in line, she wouldn't make a good ruler anyways, since she was a shitty one back in meeren Only thing that prevented her from going full retard was her close friends, and those people are dead already
Sure, the writing hasn't been stellar this season... no excuse for that
But those people who claimed 'Daenerys suddenly turned mad and makes no sense' obviously forgot all the atrocities she had committed getting here...

Our mercy toward future generations who will not be held hostage by a tyrant.” (She’s all but saying she’s not going to show mercy and will butcher everyone in the city)
• 805 – Daenerys to Tyrion. “Next time your fail me will be the last time you fail me.”
And that’s just what I can remember off the top of my head.
Here’s the point. Daenerys threatened multiple times to burn cities to the ground, she executed/murdered innocent people numerous times to consolidate power, she realized without love all she has left to rule with was fear, and she grew to distrust the only advisor trying to prevent her from burning down King’s landing.
She wasn’t “acting out of character” at any point in 805. She literally did the thing she’s threatened to do for multiple seasons.

This ending reminds me of Mass Effect 3's colored endings, it left most of its fans raging till they finally released the extended endings which gave some closure
Speaking of bioware games, here's something that's almost similar to season 8, done way better
