Hi smile.gif
I just bought used HTC Dream and I'm still new in Android OS..
Currently I'm facing a little problem..
I'm done copying my contact numbers from sim into the phone..
The problems is:

When the number is like the normal (EG:019-999 9999), I'll not be able to view the sender name when receive sms. Only the sender phone number.

But when I add +6 in front of the number (EG:+6019-999 9999), I'll not be able to view the caller name when receiving incoming call but this will settle the sms prob.

Is there any ways for me to solve both issues? smile.gif

Really need help from all the forumers here.

Thanks. notworthy.gif

ya lor.. smile.gif

As temporary solution, I'll have to save both (with and without +6) numbers to overcome the prob.. sweat.gif
But I think its not practical to store same number twice.. Hehe..

Just set your contact number to this format 012*******/019*******/+6010*******etc ... ( Or any kind of format that u preferred )
And use this apps software to solve your problem:

ChompSMS

Try to use it and it will automatically detect your contact's number.
Do not use the default messaging built in apps.
You could find it in the market or find the cracked version of it (you know where to find it, just google it around) tongue.gif
I hope this will help you as much it helps me! ( But I already upgrade my G1 to Eclair 2.1)

You can disable the default messaging app notification. Check it out in the settings bro.
I forgot already but there is a setting to set the default sms apps or set ChompSMS as default messaging in ChompSMS setting.

Btw try check your phone version. It's under Settings -> About Phone.
Is it the build number is DRD20?
Actually donut don't have this phone bug issue. It might be your firmware, build number, blablabla etc.
Previously, my phone G1 was using Singtel set android 1.6 stock and it has bug known issue such as yours.

This method only can help you to overcome the same number twice. There's maybe a way to fix this issue but what the heck, I upgraded my G1
to Eclair 2.1 and it works fine rclxms.gif

Can your old phone export the contacts list in CSV format? If so, export it to CSV and import the list to your GMail (it doesnt matter if they dont have any emails). Sync your phone after that.

Added on July 12, 2010, 12:05 amIt's been few days using android and I really enjoyed it.
But then I realized that all the apllications was installed on the internal memory..
Is there any ways or application that allow the user to install it on the memory card?
