QUOTE(chriscym @ Sep 19 2010, 12:14 PM) It's a deal sign between mother company axiata and telenor. It's confirmed otherwise they won't announce Confirmed or not confirmed is not important, the important thing is as of CURRENT is still a problem, I'm going to invest my money and time and then take the risk to wait for the improvement. Now, DiGi's line is still need a lot of improvementThis post has been edited by echoesian: Sep 19 2010, 03:32 PM |

I think the trend of the Telco now is offer as longer period as possible for the contract in order to lock-in customer. I bet DiGi is going to launch with the similar pricing as 3GS but maybe lower down the iPhone 4 price.

The good thing about the DiGI plan is the free SMS is for all telco not only digi to digi but DiGi's line coverage is still a issue nowadays...

QUOTE(xaw5126 @ Sep 21 2010, 12:22 PM) @echoesian In that case, I need to go to DiGI centre and do MNP first to anticipate the DiGI launching soon? If I were to subscribe to Maxis postpaid from Hotlink, does it require more time as well or it could be activated on the spot?MNP *ALWAYS* takes some time, there's no on-the-spot. you have to do MNP, your unused credit would be burned, and you can only purchase your iPhone4 when the MNP is completed. |

QUOTE(nowvista @ Sep 21 2010, 02:05 PM) Both a13solu3 & Wiraone are correct How do MNP into DiGi prepaid?a) If you do MNP now, you will lock into one plan/package for a minimum 3 months b) iits best if you wait for the iPhone 4 plan to launch, then MNP for its new iPlan. You will be able to get your iphone 4 once you are successfully ported over (which take sometimes ) update: c) port in to Digi prepaid now, then you can sign up for iPlan during iphone launch a13solut3 I just read that MNP will lock you to one package for minimum 3 months, so I advise those who want change to iPlan, don't try to MNP now, or you will stuck with DiGi smartplan for minimum 3 months. |

Does anyone know if Hotlink user can convert directly to iDiGi using MNP on the spot assuming the event falls on 24 Oct ? Or do I need to go to Digi Center to settle the MNP first?

If comparing between Digi and Maxis side by side using 2 years plan, Digi is cheaper .. For Maxis, the saving from the phone compare to Digi is 2490 - 1790 = RM700. But comparing using plan, Digi has the edge, Digi is RM63 while Maxis is RM100, diff is RM37, RM37 x 24 months = RM888. So in long term for 2 years, Digi saving is RM888 while Maxis is only RM700. So, if contract 1 year take Maxis better.

QUOTE(xaw5126 @ Sep 23 2010, 01:22 PM) @joey87 too bad... DiGi has no 1 year plan.. if got i straight jump to DiGi liao.. cos Maxis 200 free sms is only for Maxis to Maxis... What da...USA iPhone has always been sold with 2 year contract. don't want contract, pay full price. crazy? this is smartphones. get used to it. its only 2 years, by that time... will be time to buy another iPhone if you really don't want a 2year contract, buy outright when its available later. right now, its for contract purchase only @echoesian thanks for the maths. there's another factor. Maxis will charge your for overage on data usage. Digi will not. so there's a safety net. |

QUOTE(lilster @ Sep 23 2010, 01:27 PM) The promotional monthly fee is only applicable for the first 24 months. After the 2 years contract, the plan reverted back to RM88 / month if you want to use back the plan. After the first 24 months, the monthly fee will be charged at the normal rate. what does this mean? after the 2 year contract then back to 88 per month? what if i want normal postpaid plan? |

QUOTE(Joey87 @ Sep 23 2010, 01:20 PM) It depends. Maxis offers 12 months contract, i'm sure there will be CHEAPER plan 9 months from now, especially right before the launch of the next iphone, and Celcom is going to offer iPhone soon, with 3 telcos competing for iphone subscibers, there will be competitive plans in the coming months. To tie you for 2-3 years is crazy, even they offer unlimited internet. Agree, cos I foresee there will be more competitive plans from time to time... if wanna take this risk one should opt for Maxis plan then... |
